Story
Father John has lived his whole life without knowing a woman’s touch. Hard at first, his self-denial grew easier over time, as he learned to master his urges with a regimen of prayer, cold showers, and jigsaw puzzles. That changes the day that Debra Rocks enters his confessional. A rough-talking adult film actress, she has come to ask him to pray for a murdered costar. Her cinnamon perfume infects Father John, and after she departs he becomes obsessed.

A beautiful story
I’m an avid horror reader, but every now and then one of my fav authors will remind me how important it is to wander outside of that genre. McCammon wrote something truly memorable with this story, and as I listened to it on Christmas Day, it really hit the spot.

Brilliant short story
I have had this short story in cue for the longest time. I am finally catching up.
Yellachile is a short story from Robert McCammon. Yellachile a parrot that lives in a cage and Whitey the voodoo man security guard and nobody wants trouble from stretch. The second meeting is no better than the first when One gets his message from Yellachile via Whitey. But I have no idea what it means. Yellachile the parrot gets around and lives well beyond his years. More now than the forty years that wan has been in prison. But Yellachile helps a man find something inside.

A powerful story about the power of stories
At first I felt like the acting involved in the narration was going to be too much of a distraction but soon I was captivated by the story and the narration drew me in deeper.
