Wounded Souls on a Cross (Book 3)
Engaging an Assailant, a Charismatic Gypsy and a Woman Who Built Her Own Cross
In book 3 of The Cross Series, a year after being shot on his cross admirers and people in need of help are still showing up on Paul Sentes’ doorstep. He recalls an old woman who was not enthralled with him and his journey. She used a cane to walk up to Paul while he was on the cross and then used it to attack him.
An angry young man bitter at what life has dealt him paints his face and hands black and cloaks himself in black. He appears dramatically on the street, in front of Paul. Television reporters ask why he is there. He does not reveal his reason. The reporters sensationalize him and call him The Man in Black. The next day he confronts Paul in his home intent on killing the infidel.
A policeman who inadvertently killed an inmate while restraining him is made a sacrificial lamb by the department and they fire him. Suffering emotionally, he ends up at Paul’s house in hope of giving his life meaning and direction.
Maria, living in Italy, is the first person to copy Paul and build her cross. She visits him after he has recovered and discusses why she built her cross.
Cassandra explodes into Paul’s world arriving in a van with the words boldly painted on its side, Gypsy Woman. The van has replaced her parent’s horse and buggy used to crisscross America. Cassandra is flamboyant, charming, and charismatic and sweeps Paul and those dear to him off their feet.
