About this listen

Based on true facts and characters, Woolf Barnato inherited a fortune when his father, Barney Barnato, the diamond millionaire, died mysteriously in 1897 when Woolf was two years old. Woolf left university to serve in the Royal Field Artillery in France, Belgium and Egypt during the First World War, rising to the rank of Captain. Obsessed with racing fast cars, he saved Bentley Motor Cars from bankruptcy in 1926 taking over the company. Woolf became well-known as one of the Bentley Boys, a cadre of young wealthy men who raced Bentley cars. He won the Le Mans 24 Hour Endurance Race, three consecutive years. As a result he was considered the best racing driver of his time. Entertainment & Celebrities Europe Belgium Racing Africa

Excellent war & racing history along with the Bentley Story. Yes, he was definitely a rich kid & lived a pampered lifestyle. (With several divorces, mistresses, and kids as a result) but set the “Playboy” lifestyle aside, he actually accomplished a lot in a short life. **The A.I. narration still has some bugs to work out, but it was tolerable at 1.3x speed.

Fascinating story.

I listened to this book on the advice of a friend. Unfortunately he didn't mention how bad the narration was. This is the first book I've listened to with AI narration and if this is par for the course, it'll be the last.
The book itself was pretty good.

Absolutely horrible narration.
