Lawrence speaks with the Carnival’s general director and visits the insides of buildings and even a car made of ice. She hears of the hundreds of activities in which nearly a million visitors a year engage and talks, too, with Bonhomme Carnaval, King of the carnival and self-proclaimed "sweet boss" who talks of his role, "to have people happy!" She continues with a tour led by a convention bureau guide who describes the architecture, churches, public statues, culture, and history of this fascinating "old world in the new world" city.
