About this listen
In the second novel in the Wildflower House series, the author of The Memory of Butterflies reminds us that to achieve our dreams, we must first open our hearts.
Kara Hart suffered overwhelming heartache when she lost her mother and husband, and her father’s sudden death might be the blow that breaks her - unless she turns her grief into purpose. She’ll finish renovating his Victorian mansion in rural Virginia, but with her own twist. She’ll turn the old house into a creative retreat for artists and writers.
Kara has never tackled a project this big alone, and she’s not ready to open her heart to others for help. But the locals open their hearts to her - including two who have the potential to be more than friends. She tells herself she doesn’t need romance or distractions, but maybe that’s exactly what she needs. When her former best friend reenters Kara’s life, it could be the distraction that finally destroys her - or heals her.
The tragedies in Kara’s life have damaged her self-confidence, but she presses forward, gradually lowering her protective walls and allowing others in little by little. Will bringing Wildflower House back to life and freeing her own creative spirit also allow her to open her heart to hope and happiness - and maybe even love?

Emerson, Georgia, and Marley have been best friends ever since they met at a weight-loss camp as teens. When Emerson tragically passes away, she leaves one final wish for her best friends: to conquer the fears they still carry as adults. For Marley, it's coming to terms with the survivor's guilt she's carried around since her twin sister's death, which has left her blind to the real chance for romance in her life. For Georgia, it's learning to stop trying to live up to her mother's and brother's ridiculous standards and learning to accept love.

Critic reviews
“In her second Wildflower novel, Greene masterfully peels back the hidden layers of Kara Hart’s grief, dependency, and self-doubt to unveil a heartwarming tale of love and forgiveness. Set in the lush Virginia countryside, Wildflower Hope is an inspirational story of leaving the past behind and seeing the possibilities of the future.” --Bette Lee Crosby, USA Today bestselling author of Emily, Gone)

Heartwarming novel of hope for the future
Wildflower Hope continues the story of Kara, a young woman who has seen multiple losses in her life, the most recent being the death of her father. Having read the first and third books in the series, I was looking forward to filling in some of the details I had missed in this second book. I was not disappointed. The characters are people you would want to be your friends as they are realistic and relatable. As Kara continues the renovations to a house her father bought, she meets several challenges and it is interesting to see how she works through and overcomes them. Wildflower Hope is a lovely story of healing and growing, of love and forgiveness. I am looking forward to reading more from this talented author. Amanda Dolan does a nice job narrating Kara's story which makes for an enjoyable listening experience. I listened to a complimentary copy of the audiobook and was not required to leave a review.

Wildflower Hope
The second book in the Wildflower House series is just as good as the first one Wildflower Heart.
After the death of her father Kara is trying to figure out if she should sell Wildflower House or make it an artist retreat. Her friend Jessica shows up and tries to get Kara to forgive her and let her back into her life.
Kara gets close to Will who’s landscaping the grounds but she misses Seth and is waiting for him to come home to see if they have a relationship starting.
There are a few surprises as usual with Grace Greene’s books. I can’t wait for her Christmas book Wildflower Christmas

Characters are written exceptionally well
This storyline finds your heart compelled to move forward together. Some hurts, falls, bumps and bruises along the way but Kara's strenght is endless and just when you think she will backslide, you really grip her senses for her success. A real love blossoms, you find yourself wondering which way will she go. Plot twists are found and revealed. Exceptionally Written as well.

A mess
This story had no flow, too many characters and unconnected events were all thrown at you in the first chapter. Dad’s death, her divorce, cheating husband, bad accident, becoming a widow.Good lord, save some info and maybe build around it. The story didn’t seem to “know” where it was going nor what it wanted to be about. Her?Her dad? The wild flowers? The project? The protagonist wasn’t very likable either. The narrator sounded the exact same for every character, got confusing as to who was speaking. Pretty much the whole thing was a confusing, disjointed mess. Didn’t finish.
