About this listen

Twenty-two-year-old Ivy Morgan isn't your average college student. She, and others like her, know that humans aren't the only thing trolling the French Quarter for fun... and for food. Her duty to the Order is her life. Four years ago, she lost everything at the hands of the creatures she'd sworn to hunt, tearing her world and her heart apart.

Ren Owens is the last person Ivy expected to enter her rigidly controlled life. He's six feet and three inches of temptation and swoon-inducing charm. But letting him in is as dangerous as hunting the cold-blooded killers that are stalking the streets. As Ivy grows closer to Ren, she realizes that she's not the only one who's carrying secrets that could shatter the frail bond between them. She is no longer sure which is more dangerous to her - the ancient beings threatening to take over the town or the man demanding to lay claim to her heart and her soul.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would highly recommend this to a friend if they were into the whole Urban-fantasy-love story thing.

Any additional comments?

This was a great book, even if slightly predictable. The characters were memorable and there was just the right amount of comic relief that it didn't take away from the seriousness of the story-line. Would highly recommend to all of my fellow Urban Fantasy Romance lovers!

Standout story

Sexy, hot, and filled with twists and turns. Finished it in 3 days. It was hard to hit pause and go to work while all I wanted was to find out what would happen to Ivy and Ren.

Hot Damn!

Book Review

I had heard of this book but with so many books on my TBR I left it off on the side to read ..... someday.... well I saw that the book was picked up by Passionflix to be created as a movie and I knew I had to get it read before I watched it.
I am so mad at myself for waiting for so long to read this series. I am hooked and will be binging through the rest shortly.
I love a good fantasy storyline and often overlook them as even within the genre there are so many possibilities that I get overwhelmed. Wicked was a clean and clear story that didn't get too fantastical and kept much of the humanism present. This is my type of story!
The main female character is a strong presence and has some scars that she uses as her protection. The main male character brings in some mystery and a bit of romantic suspense to the storylines.

A fantasy story you will want to be a part of

Good story. Easy to predict though. You can guess the who the main character is pretty quickly as well as the traitor. But the ending, which is a cliffhanger leaves you wondering what will happen next.

This is not one of my favorites as like I said it is very predictable but it is a good listen. The narrator is good though in my opinion, she does not do male voices very well. The main male, Ren, does not have a pleasant voice. Although, as story progressed, I discovered I could deal with it and finished the book.

I will listen to the complete series to see how it ends. Maybe the other books will be less predictable. But overall it is worth the credit to purchase. Though I do not think it is one I would spend $ to purchase.

Very predictable but good

What did you love best about Wicked?

Tink! I love how audiobook narrator Amy Landon animated his uniquely charming and amusing as all get out supporting character so perfectly.

What other book might you compare Wicked to and why?

Heartless by Marissa Meyer and narrated by Rebecca Soler because as with Wicked, I crazy loved the Cheshire Cat (also a secondary character like Tink) and how the narrator brought him to life so well.

Have you listened to any of Amy Landon’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, but I actually have a couple of unlistened to audiobooks narrated by her already in my collection that I'm looking forward to reading now more than ever - What's Left of Me: What's Left of Me, Book 1 and What's Left of Us: What's Left of Me, Book 2 by Amanda Maxlyn; Unbreakable: Unbreakable, Book 1 by Rebecca Shea. Amy did a superb job with Wicked and showed off her excellent acting instincts. I’m a new fan of hers without question.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed my head off, mostly because of Tink.

Any additional comments?

Story ★★★★½
I liked the chemistry between Ivy and Ren as well. I was reluctant to read this one because I'm not a fan of fae mythology and had almost decided that I'd probably never read it even though I own the novel in 2 formats. Fortunately, author J.R. Ward proposed a group read-along of it at the beginning of this month, and I decided to take the plunge and finally read it. I'm so glad I did because Jennifer L. Armentrout never fails to deliver. And I'll definitely continue this series via audiobook format. Up next in this series for me is Torn (A Wicked Saga, #2), originally released on September 13, 2016.

Tink will charm the socks off of you!

Not even done yet on chapter 18 and I HAD to write this review. This book is freaking amazing
My favorite scene was the bedroom one when tink came with pan and painted face like a warrior lmao I was laughing out loud. The narrator is perfect ! I am yelling as I listen because I just know who Is the mole (smh at that betrayal to come !) 🤦‍♀️and I know ivy’s secret that is mentioned in next books description !!! I can’t wait to finish and start next one .. great book !! I suggest it paranormal love and action all in one. Some of the more steamer scenes I fast forward through because to me they are pointless to the story the connection is there regardless of description of sexual deeds but other than that .. amazeballs !

Omg ! Must Read !!
