What is the meantime? According to author and inspirational speaker Iyanla Vanzant, being in the "meantime" means being in a state of limbo. Rather than wallow in confusion, Vanzant encourages you to use the meantime to prepare yourself for true love. The first order of business is to clean house. Room by room, Vanzant takes you through a metaphorical cleaning of the soul. This way, when love finally comes knocking on the front door, you'll have a clean house to welcome it into.

The rules for living in the real world have changed, because the world we live in has changed. Much of the conventional wisdom the last generation has passed on just doesn't apply like it once did. If you want to win, and win big, and, more importantly, keep what you work so hard for, you need a crystal-clear view of how the real world works - not how you wish it worked, but how it actually works.

Very good book, but needs a better narrator.
it sounded like a computer was speaking every word with out feeling what the author was trying to say. I would even re- purchase it to hear it in a better way.

Who chose the narrator?
I really enjoyed the premise of the book... I thought that it held some very pertinent and valid information. However, you can only get that information when you can get past the voice of the narrator. she is very nasally and wait 2 emphatic when there's certainly no need for it with the verbage of this book. I enjoyed the content however, I probably would have benefited more if I had just taken the time to read it myself. it was really a struggle for me to take the narrator seriously!

Cindi delivers hard, but very much needed, truths about toxic relationships. I feel much more enlightened after listening to this book, and am ready to change my ways. The only downside is that the narrator sounded robotic.

Really liked this book!
Thought provoking, and helpful for people suffering in bad relationships. A great eye opener to how your kind behavior is actually enabling others negative behavior.
I wasn't crazy about the narration unfortunately. The pitch of her voice was hard for me to get into, and at sometimes would almost sound computerized although I know it wasn't.

This book could change your life
What made the experience of listening to Why Good People Can't Leave Bad Relationships the most enjoyable?
This book is excellent- intelligently written important & useful information- could definitely be life-changing for the 'so-called good people' of the world, like me. I have listened through a lot of books looking for help with these issues, and was really surprised to find that this book deals head on with all of the people pleasing, self deprecating, overly "nice" behavior that is currently ruining my chances of ever having a good relationship. It's a must - really. I don't subscribe to a few things in this book- I personally don't believe that communicating with the dead is possible- no way, no how. Still a good book, and just let that roll if you're like me- there's plenty of wisdom to make up for it in the rest of the book. I'm not a religious person, but the biblical references didn't bother me.Lastly, the narrator is more than a little annoying- and I almost dumped the book after five minutes but the content was too good. I can't believe this person was chosen to narrate an audio book. Her tone is nasal and almost sounds computer generated at times- wow. Despite that, still excellent.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
The narrator not only detracted from the book, she almost renders it unlistenable. Painful.
