About this listen
An impossible killer stalks the streets of London.
Jack the Ripper faded into history over a century ago, his identity lost to the ages. Until a work crew restoring a Mayfair home make a shocking find. A secret basement room walled up since Victorian times. The Whitechapel murderer's lair. And inside, a corpse that has waited in silent darkness for over a hundred years. But it won't stay that way…
Within hours of the room's discovery, the body goes missing, and the murders begin anew.
With a violent killer on the loose and the body count rising, John Decker, still new to CUSP, is sent to England, along with seasoned operative Colum O'Shea. Their mission: stop a ruthless monster from obtaining the one thing that will allow him to escape forever.
As the city huddles in fear and the terror mounts, Decker finds himself in a race against time to catch a hellish fiend smarter than any he has ever faced. Because if he doesn't, the next death might hit a little too close to home.

Interesting concept
Concept was interesting but the action was rather contrived with lots of loose ends.
The narrator has a very nice speaking voice but was ridiculously melodramatic and a terrible actor! The only thing worse than his acting was his LOUSY attempt at English accents. He was a terrible choice!

Good one
I enjoyed this Jack the Rupper tale but the Narrator is just way too melodramatic and does horrible accents. It is very distracting. The plot and characters could use better development.

Okay....not the best
I've read/listened to a few others in the John Decker series. This one fell a little flat for me. The story wasn't bad, but the performance took it down a couple of notches. Narrator seemed like he was using his inner William Shatner as he read.

John Decker vs Jack the Ripper
This was a highly entertaining entry in the John Decker series. Jack, (or Abraham as it turns out) is a very effective opponent for Decker. We are never given a clear explanation of what he is, but that makes it all the more effective. Part serial killer, part vampire, part... something else. Jack is intelligent and resourceful. The backdrop of modern London is great as well. This may be, in my opinion, the best book in the series yet.
To be fair, this is not "Great Literature", and if that is what you are expecting, you will likely be disappointed. However, if you want an entertaining story with supernatural overtones and a hero that is willing to stand up to any threat, then you will have a fun time here. The story reads like a cross between episodes of The X-Files and Kolchack, The Night Stalker.
No sex, no profanity, a pretty good dose of violence (it's Jack the Ripper after all). Recommended.

Great story so far. I’m half way through and enjoying the story but definitely NOT enjoying the narration.
I’m enjoying the story so far but the narrator is awful.
He seems too forced and his switch from one character to another is distracting.

Narrator is terrible
The storyay very well be fine but I couldn't tolerate the narrator for more than a couple of minutes. I will NEVER buy another book with him as the narrator.
