About this listen

The huge alien prince claims I’m his wife—but I’ve never been a good little princess. I’m not about to start now.

Stuck in a hot jungle with an even hotter alien is not how I imagined my diplomatic mission going. To make things worse, every conversation is an exercise in survivor charades. I’ve always prided myself on never needing a man, but this planet seems determined to prove I can't live without the massive alien stuck to my side.

When we’re chased into a crumbling ruin, I think things are finally looking up. We’re out of the rain, at the very least. There are strange images all over the temple walls, showing riches beyond belief. And my alien? He’s suddenly obsessed with finding it…and with me.

By the time my translator starts working, I’ve figured out several things.

One: other aliens are hunting us.

Two: my alien seems to think the mysterious treasure will solve all our problems.

And three: We’re married.

If I want to survive this death trap of a temple and Suevan politics, I’ll need all my wits about me. I better stop being distracted by the muscled hunk of scaly alien who treats me like I’m the real treasure.

Hilarious 😂😂😭😩😂❤️

I love the banter between the main characters! Her snarky sense of humor and his naivety makes this book!

This book is HILARIOUS!!! Oh and steamy!

I loved this series! It’s adventurous, steamy, fun and funny! It’s different, yet so simple that you devour this book in one sitting!!! I loved this so much! I can’t wait to see the next girl in book 3.

So much fun

I was not expecting this book to be as good as the first and it absolutely is, if not better. I laughed out loud many times and actually enjoyed how over the top it was at times. The ending pushed the world building forward a respectable amount and sets up the third book nicely, but I figure I'll read it on Kindle instead of waiting for Audible to get it (the delay in audiobook releases has been just unacceptable in my opinion)

My only nitpicking is with narration. I like Hollie Jackson and Mason Lloyd, but I don't think I like them together in this series. I really wish they had done a duet narration instead of dual. I think having Mason do all the male narration and Hollie the female narration would have kept the immersion going better. Especially since I think Mason's female voices aren't as good anymore but I do love his accents for the male characters.

“Indiana boner and the temple of gloom!”

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💜🩷💙💚
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌎
Character development: ☹️😍😋😤
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Gen - she was one of an all-female diplomatic mission into Suevan territory. The mission was intended to get Earth an interplanetary defense system that will stave off any more alien incursions. Though the alien hosts insisted on an all-female team from the Earth Federation. The women didn’t know it at the time, but the Suevans’ needed mates and when they arrived, they were each chosen by an alien male and the welcoming ceremony was actually a mating ceremony after which the females were implanted with translators.

The Hero: Kanuz - he is the prince of his people. The Suevan’s are a warlike race, living traditionally in small settlements throughout their planet, yet their weapons and warships are far advanced than anything seen in the federation. Separatists attack the welcoming/mating ceremony and Kanuz takes his mate, Gen into the jungle. He figures they will hike to Adrobaz, the mountain city where the capital is. Though rain and mudslides have slowed them down quite a bit.

The Story: Gen is not fond of Kanuz after they have been trekking through the jungle for days. Especially since her translator has been malfunctioning and she can’t understand him. They think some of the large reptilian beasts on the planet might be hunting them and possibly the separatists as well. They end up taking shelter from the rain in temple ruins deep in the jungle. The ruins are filled with drawings like hieroglyphics showing a treasure that Kanuz thinks could really help his people. They lead to various puzzles the further into the temple they get, puzzles they must solve if they want to live.

I like the action and adventure of this story; I also liked that Gen realizes that she hasn’t been very nice to Kanuz and apologizes as well as thanks him for saving her and taking care of her. Kanuz also has some of his own issues in that he sees himself as a spoiled prince that may not be capable of bringing his people together or of ruling. I also loved the miscommunications that surfaced based mostly on the use of slang and idioms. We usually don’t see that as much in alien romance, but it is definitely something that would happen when talking to an alien race. It was hilarious when she tried to tell him about sour patch kids. He thought they ate children. She had to explain they were just shaped like children and he didn’t understand why they would want to eat something like that.

This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Mason Lloyd and Hollie Jackson. These are two of my favorite alien romance narrators. They are both very expressive and natural sounding. Voice actors not readers, if you know what I mean. They both have great voices as well.

This book has so much sweetness and heart I loved it. The story line is rich and characters complex. I love the series and can't wait for the next book.

WOW...

This story was better than the first, much better IMO, and so funny esp. towards the middle and beyond that I was crying probably waking the dead. I just never anticipated some of what the characters would say, saying and terms barriers(species), and then I couldn't stop laughing 🤣. Thank you so much. To hot to do anything except listen to a fantastic book. Next!!!

Comedy

This book should be classified as a romantic comedy; there was humor scattered throughout the book. Narrators did a great job with characters. Will continue the series if/when another book is released.

I love the fact that these women are strong and blood thirsty a little bit and that turns their men on makes it so much fun. I hope you enjoy it as much as I am.
