Jordan B. Peterson
About this listen
A revolutionary new offering from Dr. Jordan B. Peterson, renowned psychologist and author of the global bestseller 12 Rules for Life.
In We Who Wrestle with God, Dr. Peterson guides us through the ancient, foundational stories of the Western world. In riveting detail, he analyzes the Biblical accounts of rebellion, sacrifice, suffering, and triumph that stabilize, inspire, and unite us culturally and psychologically. Adam and Eve and the eternal fall of mankind; the resentful and ultimately murderous war of Cain and Abel; the cataclysmic flood of Noah; the spectacular collapse of the Tower of Babel; Abraham’s terrible adventure; and the epic of Moses and the Israelites. What could such stories possibly mean? What force wrote and assembled them over the long centuries? How did they bring our spirits and the world together, and point us in the same direction?
It is time for us to understand such things, scientifically and spiritually; to become conscious of the structure of our souls and our societies; and to see ourselves and others as if for the first time.
Join Elijah as he discovers the Voice of God in the dictates of his own conscience and Jonah confronting hell itself in the belly of the whale because he failed to listen and act. Set yourself straight in intent, aim, and purpose as you begin to more deeply understand the structure of your society and your soul. Journey with Dr. Peterson through the greatest stories ever told.
Dare to wrestle with God.

Three years after Keating's construction, the army was finally ready to concede what the men on the ground had known immediately: It was simply too isolated and too dangerous to defend.

Story
Douglas Murray, #1 international bestselling author and renowned cultural commentator, confronts arguably the most pressing question of our time: Why are Western supporters of Palestine unwittingly aligning with an evil empire? The campus left frames the violent hostilities as white colonialists committing genocide. Yet only a third of Israelis are Ashkenazi Jews of European ancestry. Murray argues that the conflict is not a simple tale of oppressor versus oppressed, but a clash between a thriving multi-racial democracy and a death cult bent on its destruction.

Viktor E. Frankl was a medical doctor at a psychiatric hospital in 1942 when he became a prisoner in Nazi concentration camps in World War II. In 1946, he published this book about his camp experiences and a method of psychotherapy he developed. Forty-five years later, it was still named one of the most influential books in the United States. Part One describes his three years in four Nazi concentration camps, which took the lives of his wife, father, mother, and brother. He closely observed inmates’ reactions to their situation, as well as how survivors came to terms with their liberation.

Using the theories of Alfred Adler, one of the three giants of 20th-century psychology, The Courage to Be Disliked follows an illuminating conversation between a philosopher and a young man. The philosopher explains to his pupil how each of us is able to determine our own life, free from the shackles of past experiences, doubts, and the expectations of others.

Our modern society has called for us to “smash the patriarchy”, and the church has not done much better. Instead of telling men how they can hone and refine their aggressive traits, the church has told men that they should aspire to be meek servant-leaders, and when a man shows any signs of independence, he is shown the door. Men are supposed to found households, join brotherhoods, and work toward a mission. God made men to be strong and aggressive risk-takers. This is a feature, not a bug. Foster and Tennant remind us that it’s good to be a man.

Critic reviews
“At a time when so many of the mainstream Christian churches are either drifting along with the culture or turning inward to bicker about who has power, it is perhaps not surprising that the most compelling interpretation of the Scriptures is coming from a layman, a psychologist, someone outside the ecclesiastical structures. Jordan Peterson makes no claim to give an adequate theological account of the Bible, but he is indeed shedding light on what the Church Fathers called the ‘moral sense’ of the sacred text. It is practically impossible to imagine anyone who would not find illumination and inspiration in the pages of this book.”—BISHOP ROBERT BARRON, founder of Word on Fire
“This book revitalizes ancient wisdom and builds a bridge between human biology and theology—a bridge we must cross to rescue ourselves and our civilization from the biblical errors now visible on every horizon.”—BRET WEINSTEIN, cohost of DarkHorse Podcast and coauthor of A Hunter-Gatherer’s Guide to the 21st Century
“Peterson breathes psychological fire into ancient mythological motifs, and he proposes a new understanding of spirit that bridges religion and science. This book will help many people recover the roots of their spirituality while orienting them to a new expression of that spirituality.”—JOHN VERVAEKE, professor of psychology and cognitive science, University of Toronto, author of Awakening from the Meaning Crisis, and creator of the video series After Socrates

Story

The psychiatrist, who would soon become world famous, explained his central thoughts on meaning, resilience, and the importance of embracing life even in the face of great adversity. Published here for the very first time in English, Frankl's words resonate as strongly today as they did in 1946. Story
Harpreet Grover and Vibhore Goyal met in college and then spent the next decade of their lives building a company before exiting successfully. One way to tell their story is this: they had a dream, they followed it and, then, through perseverance, they made it come true. But that’s not really the truth. Like everything in life - at least everything worth having - it wasn’t that simple. There was blood, sweat and tears, there was loss of capital, loss of friendship and even a loss of faith along the way.

awe inspiring ❤️🔥
listen to and understand.
Bret Weinstein, “history will look back at Jordan Peterson as at least* Carl Jung’s equal”
What Jordan is doing epistemologically and further psycho-spiritually it is truly profound and immediately relevant to the social re-orientation taking place in the west.
We are blessed he is alive and doing the work his soul has been called to.

One of the best breakdowns of some of the foundational stories that serve as the bedrock for western societies
Dr. Peterson does an excellent job weaving the narratives of the stories that make up some of the most compelling stories of the Old and New Testaments with the current state of affairs of western societies.

Theocentric Philosophy Rivaling Most Theological Material Out There
I very mouth enjoyed this. And I would also very much love a Jordan Peterson Reading of The Bible. His comprehension of scripture and literature makes him the perfect orator for this book. Let alone the fact that he himself wrote it.

Old Testament Commentary
A quick commentary of the Old Testament. I do not agree with all that Mr. Peterson says. But, he does make many valid points. I believe in the literal interpretation of the Bible.
Mr. Peterson does not. Yet, there is still plenty to learn from this book.

A Psychologist View of the Bible/Religion
I like Jordan Peterson’s work. I’ve read several of his books and listened to many of his interviews. What I found is that where he fully endorses the need for God, he oftentimes portrays key biblical figures as more of an archetype or as an archetypal roll model. He also ties in religious figures from other religions, who he links with biblical figures. I liked the book, but I feel that he failed to close the loop with his conclusions.
