About this listen

This is the second novel in the Vampire Nation series. The technologically advanced Vampire Nation who for 2000 years had remained hidden beneath the City of London, hidden from society, had utilised hydrogen fusion to power their great machines to split apart the Earths tectonic plates. Yet now they had allowed the fusion explosion that completely wrecked eastern part of London. And the Dominion of Man thought that was the end of the great Vampire nation. This was not the end. This was a new beginning. For as the dust from the nuclear explosion spread out across the atmosphere, to block out the sun, so those of the Vampire Nation streamed out from their self-contained prison, those great caverns they had hollowed out beneath London. And now much of the city was theirs. The Vampire Nation had plans to secure the remainder of London. And if they were good at one thing then it would be planning. Meticulous planning. Far away to the north from the depths of cold Loch Ness was sent a message to Professor Jack - it was a message he could not refuse. So even as the Vampire Nation manipulated riots in the remainder of London and tied down the hard-pressed military, Jack and his assistant, the mysterious Tekla, were taken by government helicopter to the far north. From here they are forced to venture deep underground through old disused silver mine shafts ... yet to break into an Underworld no one else knew existed ... no one except for Tekla who had been there before. In London, Ceridic, the new leader of the Vampire Nation, begins to cause havoc through out the remains of the city in his attempt to force a "re-unification" of the Vampire Nation and the Dominion of Man. In a last bid attempt to destroy the Vampire Nation, nuclear missiles are sent to destroy London. Yet how could the Dominion of Man ever know that the power of the nuclear blasts only gave the Vampire Nation the greater power they were seeking. And now ... they were unstoppable. Yet they stopped themselves. And they waited. Deep underground in the far north, Professor Jack recited the last of the sacred 216 numbers for the last door to open into the true Underworld of the great god Osiris. Jack walks forward and the door closes behind him. Fantasy Gothic Horror
