About this listen
The women from Sensible Shoes are taking their next steps in the spiritual formation journey. But each of them is finding roadblocks along the way. Meg, a widow and recent empty nester, is off to see her daughter in London. But what does hope look like when nothing goes as planned?
Charissa, a conscientious graduate student, is battling to let go of control and embrace her unexpected pregnancy. But what does hope look like when transformation is slow? Hannah, a pastor on sabbatical, is trying to find her equilibrium with rest and a new relationship. But what does hope look like when old grief keeps resurfacing? Mara, a wife and mother, longs for her difficult family life to improve. But what does hope look like when tension escalates, and circumstances only get worse?
Sometimes life feels like two steps forward and one step back. Find your own spiritual journey reflected in the lives of these women and discover the way forward.

This book is masterfully read. The characters are so relatable and their journey speaks to me about mine. I found the way they walked out the spiritual practices shared in book 1 to be very practical and helpful.

Continues the growth!
This book is a sequel to "Sensible Shoes", and really develops the characters and the relationships between them much more fully. So much insight and so powerful to see women take the risks necessary to become vulnerable, challenge preconceived notions about themselves, each other, and God; it challenged me to do the same.

Will read again
I read Sensible Shoes, the first book in the series last year and listened to it again recently. It is a different kind of story and takes you through a spiritual journey of four different women. This book, 2 steps forward, picks up wear sensible shoes ends, in the lives of the four women. They each are growing in their faith in different areas and as they face struggles they learn to apply some of the things they learned during the sensible shoes book. Oh I feel like I can identify with each of the four women in someway. And I wish I had a sacred journey course to go through like they did. I liked that this book was somewhat focused around the Christmas season and when I read this book again I plan to do it around Christmas time. I also noticed at the end there is a group study that can be done along with the book and I hope to do that as well. In my opinion, these books can be transformational.

In this sequel to Sensible Shoes, it was refreshing to listen to the growth of each character. I was able to hear a bit of myself in each of them. Most importantly I was able to great God reassuring me thru them that I am loved and to continue to trust Him.
