About this listen
Maybe it was a grandparent or a teacher or a colleague. Someone older, patient and wise, who understood you when you were young and searching and gave you sound advice to help you make your way through it. For Mitch Albom, that person was Morrie Schwartz, his college professor from nearly 20 years ago. Maybe, like Mitch, you lost track of this mentor as you made your way, and the insights faded. Wouldn't you like to see that person again, ask the bigger questions that still haunt you?
Mitch Albom had that second chance. He rediscovered Morrie in the last months of the older man's life. Knowing he was dying of ALS, or motor neurone disease, Morrie visited Mitch in his study every Tuesday, just as they used to back in college. Their rekindled relationship turned into one final "class": lessons in how to live. This is a chronicle of their time together, through which Mitch shares Morrie's lasting gift with the world. ©1997 Mitch Albom (P)2004 Time Warner AudioBooksWhat listeners say about Tuesdays with Morrie

Heartfelt
Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom is such a heartfelt and emotional read that I found on a list of "must reads" and rightfully so. It’s about Mitch, who reconnects with his former college professor Morrie, now in the final stages of ALS. Through their weekly visits, Morrie shares his thoughts on big life topics like love, work, family, and even death. The way he approaches these topics is so raw and real that it makes you stop and think about your own life choices.
What I loved most about the book is how simple yet impactful it is. Morrie’s wisdom feels like it’s coming from a place of pure love and experience, and you can’t help but feel comforted by his words, even though the story is bittersweet. Mitch’s writing lets Morrie’s personality shine through, making it feel like you’re sitting in the room with them.
This book really stays with you, reminding you of the importance of human connection and focusing on what truly matters in life. If you’re looking for something uplifting and thought-provoking, this one’s worth the read.

The life and death of a true teacher
Through Mitch Albom's words we meet a wonderful man and teacher, Morrie Schwartz, whose attitude towards life and his rapidly approaching death is inspiring.
Hearing Morrie and Mitch chat at the end of book really brings their relationship and Morrie himself to life

Pragmatic words on difficult issues
Living and dying well provide many challenges that continue to baffle us. "Tuesdays with Morrie" gives some stimulating insights through the recounting of conversations between Mitch and his old college teacher Morrie as Morrie dies of Lou Gerig's disease. The book broaches difficult topics without unbelievable hype or off-putting sentimentality. It is a great listen.
