Maybe Not What You're Expecting
There are a million lists on the internet of places to go, things to do, and events to attend in Oklahoma. Although this book does tell you about a number of great destinations, it is much more than that.
This book tells you how to dress for any season in the Sooner State, if you'll need cash, credit, or checks, even what certain Okie phrases you may hear, mean. This is more than, "go here, go there," this is "here's how to navigate these situations."
You'll learn the history of the state, what's important to its citizens, and what to watch out for as you explore the state's diverse topography. How many "top 10 tourist attractions" lists give you the phone number to poison control? :-)
Written by an Oklahoma native, and read by an Oklahoman, this audiobook is a great introduction to America's 46th state. It's casual, friendly, and easy-going presentation will help prepare you for the friendly people you'll find at every stop you make. More than just a "point A to point B" travel guide, Travel Like A Local: Oklahoma will help you see the meaning behind everything you visit in Oklahoma, leaving you richer for having visited.
