About this listen
Don't miss this "well-plotted, beautifully written story" (Library Journal) about a sexy Scot and the woman who finally captures his heart in the New York Times best-selling Windham Brides series.
As a captain in the army, Colin MacHugh led men, fixed what was broken, and fought hard. Now that he's a titled gentleman, he's still fighting - this time to keep his bachelorhood safe from all the marriage-minded debutantes. Then he meets the intriguing Miss Anwen Windham, whose demure nature masks a bonfire waiting to roar to life. When she asks for his help to raise money for the local orphanage, he's happy to oblige.
Anwen is amazed at how quickly Lord Colin takes in hand a pack of rambunctious orphan boys. Amazed at how he actually listens to her ideas. Amazed at the thrill she gets from the rumble of his Scottish burr and the heat of his touch. But not everyone enjoys the success of an upstart. And Colin has enemies who will stop at nothing to ruin him and anybody he holds dear.

Great!
I know that narrator, James Langton, has read many audible books, but I keep forgetting to mention how much I like his voice! I especially like his baritone voice that he uses on some characters! That deep, low voice gives me shivers! I hope that he keeps reading many audible books!
As far as the author, Grace Burrows, I love her plot in this story! The evil Lord Windom against James, the Scottish Lord, who Windom thinks is below him, even though he first befriended him! When he turns against James, you can see what a shallow person he's always been.
This is a good story of good and evil, and romance!

Good story
Setting: London, England Regency era
Genre: Romance
The love story of Lord Colin MacHugh (the younger brother of Hamish, Duke of Murdoch the hero of The Trouble with Dukes) and Miss Anwen Windham (the sister of Megan Windham, the Duke of Murdoch’s love interest). Lord Colin is in London for the social season to accompany his younger sisters. Anwen is the over-protected niece of the Duke and Duchess of Moreland. She is shy, retiring, and views herself as rather plain. Her one interest is her position on the ladies’ committee of the Home for Wayward Urchins, an orphanage and school for boys. Colin’s social entree into society is being overseen by Winthrop Montegue, the younger son of an earl. Win is prejudiced against the Scottish, so though he doesn’t give any outright bad advice, most of it is self-serving. For instance, he enjoins Colin to serve on the same charitable board because Win wants to be done with it soon and Colin would serve as his replacement. The charity in question is the Home for Wayward Urchins. Even though Anwen and Colin know one another through their family connections, their involvement in the charity allows them to become acquainted outside of the ballrooms and musicals of society. Their acquaintance leads to friendship and more. There are, of course, challenges on the way to their happily-ever-after, but the challenges add depth to the plot that would otherwise be a simple boy meets girl.
The audio production is good. I really appreciate it when the sounds of inhalation are avoided. I’m pretty sure that has to do with the type of microphone used in the recording. At any rate, James Langton does a verra guild Scottish accent. His male characters are good in general, but there isn’t much variety in the female voices. In fact, some of the women sound a bit squeaky. However, the book and production are worth the credit.

Classic outsider story
Love the hero feeling like a fish out of water and the difficulties caused by "friends" and following the herd. The children in this one act like real children - bratty bad behavior, acting out when treated unfairly and all. Anyone who's ever had to sit on a charity committee, or any kind of committee, will completely relate to our heroine's dilemma.
How DOES one learn to be a fashionable insider if suddenly thrust into that position? Trying to raise funds when half the people involved are either in it for publicity or paid bureaucrats...I have SO been there for some of the situations.
The more this author writes, the more I'm hooked. Her heroes solve problems for real, not just by throwing money at them. And the heroines don't sit around waiting to be rescued. Awesome!
Narrator is now my ideal as he makes the men sound so reasonable. Thank you James Langton for another "I got lost in the story, what time is it?" narration.

What did you love best about Too Scot to Handle?
The continuation of the ongoing saga of the multitude of Morelands, the humor, the excellent reader, and the horrid secondary characters. I have listened to or read most of the author's books and must confess that they sometimes blend together. Too Scot to Handle could easily stand on its own.

Bob @ Platypire Reviews
Okay, first of all, the disclosure. I was sent a copy of this book to read and review, but it didn't happen. I may or may not have taken my beautiful book on a camping trip, and forgot it where we stash our gear. So, I bought myself an audible version. And that, my friends, was a great decision!
This book is ADORABLE. I had a girl crush on Anwen just a few pages in. I love her sass! She's a feisty character who knows just how to put men in their place. All of the characters were really well written, from the boys to Win, whom I love to hate. The overbearing siblings, the familial connections; there were all great. The Headmaster was a bit of an enigma; I kind of wanted to hate him, but near the end he redeemed himself a bit. Still wanna smack him, though. Rosalyn, too, for that matter...
The flow was good too. While it could have been easily overwhelmed by all the different story lines twisting and twining together, the author did a great job of keeping everything clear. The drama was intriguing without being too much, and the sex scenes were just spicy enough before fading to black
As to the narration: fabulous! James Langton did a great job with his. His voice is pleasant, his tempo steady, and he did wonderful with the accents and different voices for characters. He fit the story very well.
If you enjoy historical romance and some Scottish dirty talk, I suggest you check this one out!

There is a plot
There are a couple sexual encounters. Easy to skip if you aren’t interested.
There is a plot and not too predictable.
Humor is limited, a few grin worthy moments.
It’s not a great romance but it is a easy enjoyable listen.
