Story
After the final battle of the Civil War, Confederate Sergeant Travis Kane rode his Yankee horse away from Palmito Ranch to return to his ranch in Uvalde County. As he began the two-hundred-and-fifty-mile ride across West Texas, Travis was grateful for surviving the long, bloody war without being wounded. But now that the fighting was over, his biggest concern was for his young wife because he hadn’t received a letter from Lillian in almost two years.

Story
Susanna stared at her father’s body on the floor, his life’s blood still pooling near his head. She’d murdered her own father, and even as she stepped slowly away from the horror, knew that there was more terror in her future. Soon, a man with a badge would come through that door, arrest her, and then they’d slide a black hood over her head, and she’d plunge into cold darkness before her receiving her final, eternal sentence.

Kyle MacKenzie left Fort Omaha to head to do some scouting at Fort Sully in the Dakota Territory at the request of their new commander. He’d been riding west for a few hours with his packhorse in tow when he noticed a set of wagon tracks heading northwest that appeared to be just a couple of days old. It raised his curiosity, and as the tracks were going in the direction he was headed anyway, he followed.

Yet once he’d returned the place to a livable condition, he realized that life wasn’t just about existing. He missed the camaraderie of the soldiers and he really wasn’t cut out for the life of a hermit. So, Jonas decided to return to his duties as an army scout at Fort Selden. US Deputy Marshal Earl Crawford had just entered the office after returning from a typically Texan assignment where bullets flew like dirt in a twister. He hadn’t even hung his hat when the boss approached him about an even more dangerous mission, but only if he chose to accept the job. Normally, he wasn’t given the choice, but in this case, even though he could have turned it down, he knew that he had to go.

He's the son of a cattle rancher. A restless young dreamer who, under normal circumstances, would follow in his father's footsteps. Normal, however, is not his style. Like his famous grandfather and namesake Perley Gates - a hell-raising mountain man with a heavenly name - young Perley wants adventure, excitement, and freedom. And like his grandfather before him, he will find his dream - in the untamed wilds of a lawless frontier. That dream though might just become a nightmare....

Todd's Vendetta
This is another good short Quick western from T.Y.Ryan. In this Book Todd Harper is a bounty hunter that takes a badge to help a friend. A gang has a plan to steal money from the town. There is several people and two gangs involved. You have to pay close attention to keep up with everyone. Michael Alan White did a good job narrating this book. True love!
I’ve said many times before that I love a good western. Unfortunately, this is not one of them. It’s not terrible but it’s more of a romance in a western setting. There’s plenty of western clichés and the narrator has a nice voice. Bounty hunter Todd Harper has his mind more on the woman than the gang he’s after. The woman betrayed him once before and she’s been a criminal for years with her brother but Todd’s willing to give up everything for her. Ah, true love. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

A great western with a little romance… So good!
This is a perfect western there’s gangsters train robbery shootings fires and then hell-bent on doing the right thing and a woman who he loves but thinks he cannot AF. This book is so good I can’t express how great I thought this book was. It was a little short but I loved Emily and Todd the James Bender or even makes an appearance the whole thing is awesome and of course I love Michael White now ration I thought he did a wonderful job as always. I think he has found his niche or his genre and it’s western he’s so good!
