About this listen

Instant New York Times Bestseller!

“Patterson’s account is compelling” (Daily Mail). The only major author to have nine holes-in-one gets inside the mystery of Tiger Woods in a biography that reads like an unputdownable thriller.

On April 13, 1986, ten-year-old Tiger Woods watches his idol, Jack Nicklaus, win his record sixth Masters.

Just over a decade later, chants of “Ti-ger, Ti-ger!” ring out as the twenty- one-year-old wins his first Green Jacket.

He blazes an incredible path, winning fourteen major titles (second only to Nicklaus himself) by the time he’s thirty- three, smashing records and raising standards.

Then come multiple public scandals and potentially career-ending injuries.

The once-assured champion becomes an all-American underdog. “YouTube golfer” is how his two children know their father—winless since 2013—until he wins the 2019 Masters, his fifteenth major, before their eyes.

But the story doesn’t end there.

Tiger, Tiger is the first full-scale Woods biography of the decade. In James Patterson’s hands, this story is a hole-in- one thriller.

Was really excited about this and it was good but the narrator said so many names incorrectly it was infuriating.

Really great history lesson but bad pronunciation.

It was a good overview of Tiger's life and career. It would have been better with a narrator who has ever watched or played golf. At least do a pronunciation review before publication.

It felt like the book was read "cold' with no preparation. Same name/term would be pronounced differently. Many golf terms and players' names were butchered... STEVE Ballestrros? Tony Fin-now? aZINGer? Many others. Get a sports/golf analyst from NBC or ESPN to re recoed it.

Very thorough and enlightening.

The story is very good but the narration is terrible. Most of the golf course names and golf terminology are mispronounced. If the narrator called Seve Ballesteros “Steve” one more time I was going to stop listening.

Should have asked a golfer to narrate

Thorough, chronological account of the known life of Tiger Woods. If you are much of a golf fan you won't hear anything new about Tiger. Lots of researching of past information was probably hard work though. I expected more from James Patterson. Read/listen to Hank Haney's book to get a little behind the scenes info about Tiger. Performer should learn correct pronunciations.

Nothing really new

Very interesting about Tiger Woods. Went into a lot more detail about him growing up and then his scandals.

Interesting

The story is basically a chronological review of tiger’s career no real personal insights
But the constant mispronouncing of players’ names, course names and even the name of the trophies was irritating

Narrator mispronouncing too often

The book is fantastic. The narrator mailed it in. Monotone. Mispronounced many well known names ie calls Seve Ballateros “Steve”

Great book, Awful narration

Possibly the issue was the tight timeline between the end of the book and production of the audible version if the book but whoever produced/supervised the production of this audible version of the book should be ashamed of the effort. Names of many foreign golfers and several golf courses were badly mispronounced to the point of being distracting. Definitely a read rather than a listen choice.

narrator obviously not a golf fan

The story of Tiger Woods is always interesting to hear although this book did leave out some of the more salacious items, understandably so. My biggest gripe is about the guy narrating the book and his mispronouncing of so many names. He called Seve Ballesteros “Steve” multiple times and called Notah Begay “Noah”. I don’t think he has a great deal of knowledge when it comes to the history of golf. Maybe next time either get a golf enthusiast ti read the book or have an editor listen before releasing it.

Good story but the narrator needed to do his homework

it is too bad the reader mispronounced so many famous golfers. very disappointing no one that knew golf was consulted.

Great bio of Tiger
