This was an amazing novel. While it’s written for a YA audience, it transcends age and is applicable to everyone. The lessons learned from this novel will impact my own life and anyone who is fortunate enough to encounter this. Kudos to you, Mr Roeder.

Great characters
The story considers issues that teens rarely face. Mark writes a marvelous story that explores these issues. I was invested in the lives of these boys. Some of Marks stories are humorous and happy. This story has drama and deep love. Other than a bit preachy, this story touched me in an emotional way. I have read most of his stories. He is one of my go to authors on audible.

Dear Audible: Please let me give this book 10 stars
A tiny bit gay romance, some coming of age, a ghost tale, a Hallmark Christmas story, a fantasy, really, set in an idyllic small town in middle America where there is no bigotry. Told in the first person from the perspective of a suicidal teen who, with a rope around his neck, meets another boy and discovers how wonderful life can be. There is no book on Audible as sweet and touching as this.
