About this listen
Jonah and Judas are back! (JJ and Xanadu too!)
Spending an all too rare, quiet night at home, the brothers indulge themselves in beer and video games, refusing to answer their endlessly ringing phone.
It's Halloween, the one night a year they take off for fear of idiots trying to be funny and pretending to be zombies. That's ended badly for them once before. But when they receive a desperate call from an old co-worker, they venture out against their better judgment.
Arriving in an infested neighborhood, they soon discover these zombies are not like any they've encountered before. Someone is controlling them, someone the brothers know and believed long dead.

The Zee Brothers have a strange and dangerous vocation. While some hunt rodents or pests in the dark, Jonah and Judas tackle much larger prey: zombies. Equipped with a well-loved artillery gun named DeeDee and a much used and somewhat abused pickup truck called Sasha, the duo clear the night of undead pests, keeping the ever-present threat of a zombie apocalypse at bay.

Story
In the year 2107, the world has both made astounding leaps forward and reduced humanity to its most basic existence. While the megacorps and those who rule them enjoy lives of extraordinary comfort and ease, most people barely scrape by, doing whatever they can to keep going. Juliet Bianchi is one of the latter. She works cutting metal in a scrapyard and doesn't have much to show for it except for a small group of equally bereft, fiercely loyal friends. Still, she maintains a bright disposition, possessing more hope and optimism than anyone would expect her to—and she's going to need it.

When a viral apocalypse kills 97 percent of the people on the planet, the survivors' humanity is hanging by a thread. Amid the leftovers of civilization, ex-Army Ranger Jason Larsen is reminded of the meaning of hope, family, and loyalty by a dog and a young boy who are as alone as he is. The survivors he seems to collect become family, and that is very bad news for those who think they run the apocalypse.

I really tried, but I'm done with the series
The first book in this series was kind of a funny twist, but it wasn't great. I tried the second one and finished it in one day because I was on a plane. That may have been the reason I pushed to try this one. This was a reminder that the series has always hovered around the level of mediocre, and I just don't want to put anymore time into it.
If you loved the first two books, this is similar. If you thought they were just OK, this one doesn't get any better.

crazy silly book
Zee Brothers and. JJ end up working the one night a year they generally take off. This book doesn't seem to take itself very seriously and so is full of silliness. It was one of those books you find crazily good. I didn't really care for JJ's voice by he narrator which is why he got 3 stars. I received a free audible and am voluntarily honest review.

The Four Teletubbies of the Apocalypse!
If you like a little (or a lot) of humor with your Zombies, you can't go wrong with this series. Jonah and Judas Zee are Zombie Exterminators. And, they hate Halloween because of all the prank phone calls they get on that night. When their beautiful friend, J.J., shows up wearing a skimpy cheerleader's outfit and asks them to go out with her, they flat refuse. They prefer to spend the evening playing zombie killing video games and eating pizza.
When J.J. listens to the multiple phone calls on the Zee's phone, most are totally lame zombie jokes. But one message is from their former co-worker, Bert, who claims that zombies are invading his neighborhood. The Zees decide that they have to check it out just in case.
The descriptions of the various costumes of Bert's neighbors and how they turn into zombies is pretty funny. Of course, they all think that the whole "Zombies are coming" is a big gag, but they soon find out different. But, when the quartet (which now includes Bert) find 4 Teletubbies costumes, the whole situation gets totally hilarious! Add in the fact that J.J.'s dog, Xanadu, can stop time while disco music plays and that the Zees have a toothless zombie named Larry that they keep as a "pet" and you can see how much fun this book really is!
The narrator is perfect for this book and his different voices for the characters are just great. I would recommend that you not operate heavy equipment as you listen (even though J.J. is pretty good with a roller) because you will definitely make a fool of yourself from laughing so much. I was given the chance to listen to this audiobook by the author/narrator/publisher and chose to review it.
