About this listen
Plucked from the timeline of history at the moment of his death, 13-year-old Gabriel Salvador awakens in a castle millions of years in the past. Saved because of his ability to sense the flow of time, he mourns the loss of the family who thinks he is dead as he trains to become an apprentice time mage.
When a mission to stop the creation of an alternate reality fails, Gabriel is revealed as the Seventh True Mage, able to use all six forms of magic. Soon, he is hunted by three dark mages who hope to use him to rule the whole of the Primary Continuum.
From the Aztec temples of 1487 to Scotland in the Middle Ages and the battlefields of Alexander the Great, Gabriel struggles to adapt to his terrifying new life and master the different magics. Can he fulfill the responsibility of being the Seventh True Mage as he joins the battle to protect the timeline of history?

Story
A time-travel adventure that just might make you a believer. The Time Machine by H. G. Wells was fun, as was the enjoyable A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle and Jack Finney's delightful Time and Again. If you enjoyed these books, you’ll definitely want to read Mission in Time. However, after reading Mission in Time, this might be the first time you actually find yourself believing in time travel. Imagine being sent on a time-travel mission expecting to arrive in a certain period of time and finding yourself in a very different era—a major period in the history of the United States....

Virtual voice is awful!
Virtual voice is awful! There is no emotion. I would rather read the book myself. At least in my head I can pretend what the characters sound like. Who knows if the book was any good.

I wanted to like it.
I wanted to like this book. I managed to listed to the first few chapters and I like the story but the AI voice is horrible. It's so flat and devoid of any emotion. There is actually some voice infections sprinkled in which I appreciated but it didn't last. I tried, glad it was free.

Thought provoking story-spoiled by virtual voice
I enjoyed the story and ideas on magic and time travel. I would have loved a live narrator to really bring it to life! Not surprisingly, virtual voice narrator lacked inflections, change of tone, and emotion. Too bad, with the right narrator I would have given it 5 all around!

AI needs more work
Did not like the AI story telling. It was hard to tell who was talking. some phrases were not voiced properly. sometimes it was hard to follow. Much rather listen to a person read it. It was much lake having a male Alexa read it, just not as bad.

AI Ruined a Decent Story
While the virtual voice sounded human, it was sing-songy to the point of being irritating. Inflection was often weird. I do not want to listen to more books narrated this way.
