Brave Irene is Irene Bobbin, the dressmaker's daughter. Her mother, Mrs. Bobbin, isn't feeling so well and can't possibly deliver the beautiful ball gown she's made for the duchess to wear that very evening. So plucky Irene volunteers to get the gown to the palace on time, in spite of the fierce snowstorm that's brewing—quite an errand for a little girl. But where there's a will, there's a way, as Irene proves in the danger-fraught adventure that follows. She must defy the wiles of the wicked wind, her most formidable opponent, and overcome many obstacles before she completes her mission.

In the first story, Anansi takes Tiger's challenge and outwits the prideful snake to win possession of all the stories in the jungle. Wonderfully performed!
Where does The Velveteen Rabbit rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This was my first experience with an audio book from Audible.com, and I must say- this was a delight!
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Velveteen Rabbit?
I loved the whole story, the best part has to be when he is conversing with the Skin Horse about what it means to "Be Real"
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Every time I read or listen to this book it makes me cry like a baby :)
Any additional comments?

Reads well but quickly
The reader does a great job with the voices and everything, but she reads FAST. Most children's books have longer pauses. My 4-year-old son adores audiobooks, and he loved this one too, but he missed a lot of it because of the speed. "Wait, what was that she was saying about a horse?"

Story brings back memories...
If you could sum up The Velveteen Rabbit in three words, what would they be?
Memories, love, imagination
Who was your favorite character and why?
The little bunny, of course! Everyone, children, adults, and even stuffed animals, want to be loved.
What about Gale Van Cott’s performance did you like?
She brought the story to life, as if I were reading it.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The little bunny atop the garbage pile to be burned. He was battered and alone and almost destroyed. Tea- jerker time! How many of us loved our toys as kids and then grew up, the toys forgotten? I still remember mine, and they were real to me.
Any additional comments?
Good story for all ages.

Moving story. Narrator didn't quite do it justice.
I adore this sweet, impactful, wise story. This narrator read quite quickly, which I usually prefer, but in this case I felt that she was rushing a bit too much, to the detriment of the tale. She also kept a very light tone throughout, but this story is bittersweet and should, I think, be read with a bit of sensitivity to that.
