About this listen

In the charming town of Middle Falls, Oregon, an extraordinary phenomenon occurs: those who die but aren't ready to move on are inexplicably revived at key moments in their lives, with their memories fully intact.

Reggie Blackwell is one such soul—a boy with a tragic past who threatens to grow into a man with a thirst for the easy life. An unrepentant rogue, Reggie seizes the rare opportunity these resets offer, diving headfirst into a life without consequences.

But as Reggie spirals deeper into the hedonistic world he's crafted, a troubling question arises: Is there a price for living without remorse? Can a man who refuses to seek redemption ever truly escape the shadows of his choices?

Can anyone find redemption if they aren't willing to seek it? Will Reggie continue to indulge in reckless abandon, or will he eventually face the consequences of his past and carve out a new destiny?

Part of the captivating Middle Falls Time Travel series, The Unrepentant Lives of Reggie Blackwell can be enjoyed as a standalone tale while deepening the intrigue of the broader series.

I was surprised by the unrepentant mindset that Reggie was stuck in. I enjoyed the performance and the recurring characters.

Perplexing and compelling

It was fine, but I feel like it took a long time to begin and then was over a bit of a miss from a wonderful author

A meh story from my favorite author

I’ve read all of the Middle Falls books and this a good one. Reggie is not a bad kid at heart besides some REALLY BAD habits. Imagine if Henry Hill or a small time Tony Soprano lived in Middle Falls Oregon and this is what you’ve got. He doesn’t necessarily have bad intentions. It’s just the only way he knows how to survive.

Excellent as always

I have read every book in this series, and I have loved every one of them. this one is no exception. come on Shawn I want a TV series out of this, and hopefully it makes you rich! I think the last time there were this many characters in a TV series was Love American style. I love the rotating characters, and the fact that you sprinkle in some of the characters from previous books.

Shawn, when is this series going to be made into a TV series?

not a bad story line but seems repetitive and shallow of the rich story line and characters I'm used to in past books. still a interesting story tho.

not as rich as usual.

Ugh. The last 2 Middle Falls books have barely approached "ok." I'm really bummed at what's happening to my favorite series.

This one...Seriously 10 hours listening to Reggie have hundreds of lives over hundreds of years and it's just the same old, same old. When you decide to make your character an UNintrospective person, I guess that means you just want to write pretty much the same thing for life after life. It's not until the last hour that Reggie finally does something different.

Why is there so little about the watchers in this one and their decisions of where to restart the person? I guess because Reggie restarts at the same age hundreds of times like in the EARLY Middle Falls books, it saved the author from expanding (as he has done as the series has gone along--until now) on the watchers and the Universal Life Center.

Reggie isn't unrepentant, he's just stupid

Middle Falls is one of my all-time favorite series, I’ve listened and loved every one of them. This is the first big swing and miss in my opinion. Compared to the other books this story just seemed stale and tired. Makes me wonder if the Middle Falls stories have finally run out of steam. However, the worst part was the narrator, his stiff and stilted ‘narration voice’ with the constant upward inflection at the end of most sentences was extremely off-putting. It felt like someone reading a ‘See Jane Run’ book to kindergarteners trying to keep them attentive to the story. Not good at all.

Annoying Narrator, meh story…
