This book will give you a rounded and complete idea of how to control exposure. The book isn't DSLR or analog specific and covers aspects of both. It explains the three components to exposure, which are ISO, aperture, and shutter speed. Concepts such as depth of field and a quick overview of Ansel Adams' zone system are also covered. The focus is mainly on how to get a great exposure from the start, but there are also tips on how to fix an overexposed or underexposed photo.

Eating is an indispensable human activity. As a result, whether we realize it or not, the drive to obtain food has been a major catalyst across all of history, from prehistoric times to the present. Epicure Jean-Anthelme Brillat-Savarin said it best: "Gastronomy governs the whole life of man."

Story
In a time when our political and cultural views feel more polarized than ever, Tyson provides a much-needed antidote to so much of what divides us, while making a passionate case for the twin chariots of enlightenment—a cosmic perspective and the rationality of science. After thinking deeply about how science sees the world and about Earth as a planet, the human brain has the capacity to reset and recalibrates life’s priorities, shaping the actions we might take in response. No outlook on culture, society, or civilization remains untouched.

"It doesn't take an Einstein to understand modern physics," says Professor Wolfson at the outset of these 24 lectures on what may be the most important subjects in the universe: relativity and quantum physics. Both have reputations for complexity. But the basic ideas behind them are, in fact, simple and comprehensible by anyone. These dynamic and illuminating lectures begin with a brief overview of theories of physical reality starting with Aristotle and culminating in Newtonian or "classical" physics.

Story
When it comes to climate change, the media, politicians, and other prominent voices have declared that "the science is settled." In reality, the long game of telephone from research to reports to the popular media is corrupted by misunderstanding and misinformation. Core questions - about the way the climate is responding to our influence, and what the impacts will be - remain largely unanswered. The climate is changing, but the why and how aren't as clear as you've probably been led to believe.

Title mislead me but GLAD I bought it!
98% of the book is about combining terrestrial landscapes with astrophotography. I was looking for something more concerned with deep space astrophotography. That said I’m still glad I bought it because it does provide a great guide to Terrestrial Astrophotography and I’m just nerd enough to be interested. Its not that basic either, a couple of math formulas are spelled out. It is more intermediate with some good information. Buy it for cash don't waste a credit it isn't that long.

Simple straightforward approach???
This book is far from simple and straightforward. It is filled with complex detailed scientific menusha that while interesting, does not significantly relate to astrophotography. The foundation and premise of the majority of this book does not lend itself to be an enjoyable read. Finally, the narrator is either a computer or an individual lacking emotion and the ability to deliver the line naturally.
