About this listen
Dagmar Marie Sophie is a poverty-stricken Danish princess whose annoying royal cousin is about to have her stuffed away in a convent. When she finds a wounded man unconscious in her garden, she sees a way out of her desperate situation. Leopold Ernst George Mortimer, seventh earl of March and a spy in the service of the king, finds himself on the wrong end of a saber and left for dead. He wakes up not remembering what happened - and in the care of a beautiful woman who says she is his wife. Back in London, Leo-with the help of his old friends the eccentric Britton family-sets out to unravel what he's forgotten. Is Dagmar truly the wonderful, irrepressible woman who makes his heart sing, or is she a dangerous enigma bent on his destruction? Contains mature themes.

Someone please restrain this narrator.
Katie Mac has a strong bent toward the cutesy. This is something that can be totally beaten to death by the narrator who goes for the I'm an adorable, breathy, 6-year old, Marilyn Monroe. And Alison Larkin just can't let it go. I've read this whole series and was aware of the cutesiness quotient, but reading in my own head, it was survivable. Someone please restrain this narrator. She just destroys the book.

Short But Full Of Entertainment
This is my second venture with the author after "The Noble Intention" which also I like because the leading female character has the signature of the author which is saucy, funny, courageous, and witty, which in my opinion, in real life I wouldn't find a single female dare or have a gut to say it aloud.
As usual Allison Larkin is always giving her very well performance to voice the characters and make the story always enjoyable.

I REALLY ENJOYED THIS BOOK
This book was pure entertainment. Nothing to think about such as historical correctness or any hidden messages, etc. This is one of those books you either love it or hate it. I loved it. The main character sounds to be very fluffy and dumb, however, when you get beneath the layers...something different emerges. What I liked the most is they get together early in the story and there isn't any of the angst and occurrences that would keep them apart. Just the right about of steamy moments, however, made lighter with the humorous banter taking place. I found myself laughing out loud at many moments in this story. The narrator did a good job and made it even more enjoyable. Worth the credit or purchase? I think so...anytime I can be entertained without having to think too hard is worth it to me!!

Silly Regency romance, very light adult read
This book reads like a spoof of Regency romance novels.
The H/H and the sub characters are ridiculous and the sexual content is almost constant. It does make you laugh at the absurdity of it all. If you're looking for a no brainer with plenty of ditzy characters, with a touch of mystery, this is for you.

Too goofy and too long
The plots were preposterous. The characters silly. The romance was just endless teenage banter.
The vague sex scenes were even worse, with a ditzy Dagmar treating Leo like a little boy.
She was all “oh, look at that yummy toosh” and grabs it, and he’s like “now it’s my turn” and grabs her, and then the narrator gives her worst Moaning Myrtle exclamations.
There are cameos from book 3’s characters that add little to the story, except to throw in an odd detour about their efforts to advance social causes. But, this is not a book of substance or deep thoughts, and this attempt to make it so wasted my time.
If this had been a novella, I might have called this a fun little romp.
At 10 hours, however, it was death by saccharine overload.

Not recommended
I’ve listened to Alison Larkin before and never had issues with her. I’m not sure if the main character was supposed to sound so stupid or childish or if it was narrator. Some parts of the book was funny but mostly ridiculous. I listened to book one in the series and hadn’t minded it but it was a little painful getting through this book. I felt like telling everyone to just spit it out and it seemed everyone was self absorbed and not in the moment. For all the lascivious thoughts going on between the main characters there was little steam in the book. The love scenes were brushed over or rushed. Also, their lusty thoughts were all horribly timed. I don’t think I’ll be listening to this author again. It was also ridiculous that an earl seemed to have no power and it made no sense why he couldn’t just get a hotel upon their arrival in London. If the author needed a reason for them not to be in a hotel then simply say there were no rooms available.

Nothing like the 1st book in this series!
I have read this whole series and this was by far the worst. I loved the first book, Noble Intentions, its actually one of my favorites, however I read it, I did not listen to it and I am glad for that. This narrator is not very good at all.
This story was just stupid. It seems to author tried so hard to make it funny it turned out to just be really stupid and it took away from the funny moments.
The only plus I could find is there was lots of dialogue.
The heroine did start out fun and enjoyable but after a several chapters went down hill from there and she just became dumb. There was nothing very good about the hero either, he was just blah.
I would recommend the first book in this series for reading not listening.
No this book was not credit worthy, and that was disappointing to me.
The narrator added to to ruination of this book.
