Abby Carnelia is an average sixth grader. She gets along okay with her parents, does pretty well in school, and has an annoying little brother. There’s absolutely nothing remarkable about her at all — that is, until the day when she happens to tug on her earlobes while standing in front of a hard-boiled egg. Flint loves to draw. In fact, he's furiously trying to finish his comic book, so he can be the youngest winner of the "Find a Comic Star" contest. He's also rushing to finish because he has keratoconus - an eye disease that could eventually make him blind. McKell is the new girl at school and immediately hangs with the popular kids. Except McKell's not a fan of the way her friends treat this boy named Squint. He seems nice and really talented. He draws awesome pictures of superheroes. McKell wants to get to know him, but is it worth the risk?

Another mystery solved!
Cat and her friends are back and headed on another field trip. This time, Mr. Neff is taking them to the recycling plant. Unfortunately, Mr. Neff is an extremely forgetful teacher - he never remembers the kids' names and has even forgotten kids on a previous field trip.
When they get to the plant, though, several of their machines are down. Then, during the field trip, another machine goes down, and it turns out that that machine was sabotaged by a baseball. Cat and her friend first suspect Anton, since he had several baseballs on the bus and is now missing one of them. But, did Anton really sabotage the machine or has he been framed? And, if Anton didn't do it, then who did?
This is another of Brezenoff's mysteries and it is just as good as the others have been. I have enjoyed every one of the field trip mysteries that I've listened to, and I can't wait to listen to more. These stories are great for children, and at under 40 minutes, also don't take a huge time investment. They are great for a bedtime story or a car ride, or even some quiet reading/listening time.
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
