About this listen
Brought to you by Penguin
For seven unsuspecting victims, death comes in the dark....
Once a luxurious getaway for a wealthy Southern family, the Summer House in rural Sullivan, Georgia, has long since fallen into disrepair and become a decaying rental property. But now it is also the scene of an horrific mass murder.
Shocking evidence points to four Army Rangers recently returned from Afghanistan. To ensure that justice is done, the Army sends Major Jeremiah Cook, a war veteran and former NYPD cop, to investigate. But Cook and his team are hindered at every turn by local law enforcement, who resists the Army's intrusion.
As Cook and his squad struggle to put together pieces of evidence that just won't fit, powerful forces rally against them to try to ensure that damning secrets die alongside the victims in the Summer House.

Never Disappoints
James Patterson is an author that I don't even read the blurb for anymore - it just gets bought.
This was a longer book for him and I highly enjoyed it. The opening chapter sets it up for a fast paced thrill ride. I couldn't wait to find out how it was all going to unfold and I wasn't disappointed. This is a stand alone story, but I could see these characters getting a series of their own.
Great read.

PHENOMENAL!!!
This story had me on my toes! I couldn't wait for the end! If we could give it more stars I would have. The thing with stories written by James Patterson, Collabs/even originals, is that they always resonate with someone out there; each story is written in a way that makes you say 'Yes, this would/does happen in real life' and The Summer House was exactly that.

The Summer House
Wow, what a book, certainly one of the best for the year! I had to force myself to stop listening/reading all in one go. The story was excellent and the tension unbearable at times. Loved every minute of it. The narration was excellent.

Another crunch out
Another Patterson cooperative crunch out book. Probably eorks wonders for his fortune but less so for the story. Characters, story and writing doesn’t really catch.
