About this listen
The Magnificent Conclusion to the Timeless Epic Saga
Through years of war and devastation, Tatiana and Alexander suffered the worst the twentieth century had to offer. Miraculously reunited in America, they now have a beautiful son, Anthony, the gift of a love strong enough to survive the most terrible upheavals. Though they are still young, the ordeals they endured have changed them-and after living apart in a world laid waste, they must now find a way to live together in postwar America.
With the Cold War rising, dark forces at work in their adopted country threaten their lives, their family, and their hard-won peace. To regain the happiness they once knew, to wash away the lingering pain of the past, two lovers grown distant must somehow forge a new life . . . or watch the ghosts of their yesterdays destroy their firstborn son.
The Summer Garden . . . their odyssey is just beginning.

Maximoff Hale is a force of nature. A ship unwilling to be steered. Headstrong, resilient, and wholly responsible - the 22-year-old alpha billionaire can handle his unconventional life. The ornate reading room at the Boston Public Library is quiet—until the tranquility is shattered by a woman's terrified scream. Security guards take charge immediately, instructing everyone inside to stay put until the threat is identified and contained. While they wait for the all-clear, four strangers, who'd happened to sit at the same table, pass the time in conversation, and friendships are struck. Each has his or her own reasons for being in the reading room that morning—it just happens that one is a murderer.

Story
In the glittering and ruthlessly competitive world of opera, Maria Callas was known simply as la divina: the divine one. With her glorious voice, instinctive flair for the dramatic and striking beauty, she was the toast of the grandest opera houses in the world. But her fame was hard won: raised in Nazi-occupied Greece by a mother who mercilessly exploited her golden voice, she learned early in life to protect herself from those who would use her for their own ends.

Parting is such sweet sorrow...
I knew there would be an end. Somehow...I still imagined that I would never arrive there. A bit more of the epic love and the enthralling history that is the story of Tatiana and her "soldier". Just like the first two installments, I wanted this to go on forever but...suck things can not be. I guess I'll have to start all over again...(maybe this time in Russian?😊)

Domestic violence cloaked as romance
I read this book many years ago and remembered it fondly as an epic romance with ups and downs, great trials and tribulations. Listening to it now as someone who deals with a teaches domestic violence awareness I don’t have the stomach to finish this book. If anyone wants a textbook example of how domestic violence looks Alexander is a prime example. Power and control gained by isolation, manipulation, physical, sexual and mental abuse. Children used as leverage and ammo becoming collateral damage. As I recall the book eventually wraps up in a happy neat bow of an ending but I can’t keep listening.
