About this listen
Germany, 1945. British agent Stephen Felinski is parachuted into Hitler's fast-collapsing empire with orders to reorganize a group of Soviet agents abandoned by Moscow.
Thirty years later, a top British politician defects to the Russians, and Felinski is called out of retirement to help - because of a friendship formed among the ruins of Nazi Germany.
The link is The Special Collection, a daring and meticulously planned Soviet attempt to bring social and industrial chaos to Britain. It has already been set in motion, and only Stephen Felinski can stop it.

Well done but hardly profound
The story is well paced with a number of somewhat predictable twists and turns. Vacation book but not profound.

Re-Discover an old Friend
What did you love best about The Special Collection?
I have always loved Ted Allbeury's minimalist style of writing. The Special Collection was one of his best books as it combined his WW2 intelligence experience with Cold War tensions.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Special Collection?
There are no real stand-out moments. Just consistent good plot and story telling thoughout the book. If I had to be pinned down, I'd say the end of WW2 in Germany.
Which scene was your favorite?
The end of WW2 in Germany.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes although that wasn't possible. I found myself sitting in my ute long after I'd parked not wanting to stop listening.
Any additional comments?
Excellent Book. I would recommend anything by Ted Allbeury but The Special Collection was always one of my favorites. Please do yourself a favour and listen to this one and perhaps they will release more of Mr. Allbeury's titles on Audio.
