About this listen
Susan Chambers woke up feeling like she had been hit by a bus.
Mostly because she had been hit by a bus.
And Susan Chambers wasn’t so much waking up, as she was arriving in The After Death, the place between one life and the next.
After forty-two years as a human, a freshly dead Susan must tackle some of the biggest questions in life, death and everything that comes after.
Why are mosquitoes the way they are?
What lessons can a soul learn from a single life?
Does it really matter if you were a good person?
Is there such a thing as a life that doesn’t matter at all?
With help from Aurora, her guide to The After Death, Susan must navigate through the memories and experiences that defined her before her soul can move on to its next experience. In confronting her past, her choices, and her failings, Susan must reconcile what it means to be alive, to live, and to let go.

Story
Three sexy-but-psycho monsters. The witch they're determined to protect. And a high-stakes heist about to go very wrong… I've made some pretty questionable choices in my life, but summoning the dark goddess to save my sisters? That was just plain stupid. Now I’m in her debt, and goddesses don’t exactly do payment plans. She wants the blood of the dark fae warlord of Midnight, a realm of exiles where the sun never rises and torture is a competitive sport. It’s a death trap only three men have ever escaped—my newly appointed escorts.

Story
In Creation, Power and Truth, N. T. Wright invites listeners to consider the crucial ways in which the Christian gospel challenges and subverts the intellectual, moral and political values that pervade contemporary culture. In doing so, he asks searching questions about three defining characteristics of our time: neo-gnosticism, neo-imperialism and postmodernity.

Story
The first day that she walked onto the surgical floor that Chevy Clayborne spent most of his time on, he knew that he’d do anything to make her his. For two years, he played the long game. He slowly insinuated himself into her life, and the moment that she needed him, he swooped in like the knight in shining armor that he only pretended to be but most assuredly wasn’t. He’s no real knight. In fact, he’s the villain in everyone’s story but his own.

Story
There are lots of experts out there who will tell you they have the magic recipe to raising perfect humans. Gwenna Laithland is not one of them. She’s one of us. Frustrated, overwhelmed, and exhausted. Her relatable representation of parenthood validates our experiences. In Momma Cusses, Gwenna uses her signature style of snark and sarcasm to explain her interpretation of responsive parenting vs. reactive parenting and outline the steps she takes to raise her kids. Whether you are a parent or someone who has had a parent, we all need to learn how to handle our emotional spirals responsively.

Story
Alice Scott is an eternal optimist still dreaming of her big writing break. Hayden Anderson is a Pulitzer-prize winning human thundercloud. And they’re both on balmy Little Crescent Island for the same reason: To write the biography of a woman no one has seen in years—or at least to meet with the octogenarian who claims to be the Margaret Ives. Tragic heiress, former tabloid princess, and daughter of one of the most storied (and scandalous) families of the 20th Century.

The author did an amazing job with the narration. The story was amazing as well. It didn’t feel too long ,or too short. It was a fun, and interesting listen.

Gwenna wrote a fantastic and entertaining piece of fiction. It was engaging and never lost steam like some works can. 10 out of 10 would recommend. I can’t wait for the next one.

This was so wonderful!!!
I purchased this because I wanted to support a random (amazing) lady I follow and I was curious. I LOVED IT!!!! I expected to enjoy/like this book. I didn’t expect to love it. I’m already into my second round of listening to it and it’s seriously making me laugh, smile and self reflect about my own life. I hope so much to find out Gwenna is planning to write more books soon. AND I LOVED HER READING IT!!

Introspection is good
I enjoyed the characters and the story. The themes made me think a lot about my ever changing thoughts about what happens when we die.

A journey worth taking
There were so many parts that I related to as well as brought me insights on someone who is a lot better at words than I am. Overall it made me reflect on experiences I’ve had with others and possibly see glances at how others might have felt/experienced to make them operate in the ways they chose for better or worse. The humor really made this book such an enjoyable read and fly by so fast it was finished before I knew it. Thank you Gwenna for writing this book I think I will be re-listening to this audio book on repeat for a while.
