About this listen

Consciousness tends to insist on justification. Memory tends to invite revision. Life tends to replicate. Infinity is always in the moment. The disintegrating alkali villages of my synapses do daily battle with the elastic perspicacity of consciousness. A tardy valentine to a cross-country affair.

This audiobook is short and sweet, clocking in at a little less than an hour. I thoroughly enjoyed Pa Kelley's narration throughout the book. His inflection, tone, and energy were spot on for each chapter. He should consider doing more voice work.
The story/stories themselves were good. I found myself loving a few specific segments. I definitely listened to "What it Was" multiple times. Other segments fall victim to purple prose (wording so elaborate and verbose that it distracts from the meaning). I'm an intelligent person, and I found myself having to stop and roll the words around in my head in spots to string it all together. Sometimes less is more.
Overall, I enjoyed this audiobook and would listen to more from this author.

Pa Kelley uses language beautifully to weave both a love story and a rollicking narrative that takes one into a world of imagery and adventure; passion and dream. Read in a mellifluous voice that brings to life his storytelling. Grab a dram, sit back and enjoy.

Mellifluous and inspired
