In honor of his canonization, this volume draws together Newman’s Marian writings into an anthology of this new saint’s profound writings on our Lady. Some are doctrinal or apologetic, while others are deeply devotional meditations. These two approaches, not only show two sides of Saint John Henry Newman’s character; they will increase your own love and devotion to our Lady. They illuminate the great depths of Marian doctrine from the Church’s treasury with which Newman has so powerfully permeated his own writings and cause us to go to her for aid.

Many believers feel stunted in their Christian growth. We beat ourselves up over our failures and, in the process, pull away from God because we subconsciously believe He tallies our defects and hangs His head in disappointment. In this new edition - now with a foreword by Michael W. Smith, testimony by Rich Mullins and the author's own epilogue, "Ragamuffin Ten Years Later," Brennan Manning reminds us that nothing could be further from the truth.

Very good book for a Catholic
Enjoyed the book which gives a very detailed description of the role of the Pope and priests in the Catholic Church… the only thing that made it difficult to follow was the narrator’s failure to make good enough distinctions in the characters and change of scenes… at times it was hard to follow…
