About this listen
The world is filled with people who indulge their every whim, but suffer greatly with anxiety and depression. Why can’t they just live their lives, and enjoy themselves?
Something else other than freedom of choice and the means to indulge our desires must govern our emotional health and wellbeing. Indeed, research confirms that human beings make consistently inaccurate prediction about what will make them happy. New York Times bestselling author, Dr. David J. Lieberman explores the secret to happiness; and shows listeners how they wake up happy each and every day, for the rest of their lives. Listen to The Science of Happiness now, and look forward to a happier tomorrow.

Story
What did your boss mean in that email? Is your mechanic stretching the truth? Whether you’re engaged in a casual conversation or a high-stakes negotiation, it’s critical to understand the subtext of a situation. But with so much interaction happening on screens—via email, texts, or video chat—we are losing the ability to interpret expressions and cues. Furthermore, since many are now savvy about the meaning of body language, it’s become even harder to discern someone’s true thoughts or intentions.

Short and sweet. Very practical advice with great examples. Less than 40 minutes, but worth the price.

Simple with many layers
When I first heard this audiobook, I thought it was good. It gave me some insight on happiness. I also felt it was too short, and didn't go deep enough. I listened to it again a few weeks later and got a tiny bit more out of it. I listened to it again several months later and I realized how much I really changed for the better towards happiness. I also realized that there were things that I completely missed that gave me the depth I was looking for.
