About this listen
The first in-depth manual to teach runners of all levels how to change their running style safely, intelligently, and efficiently. Christopher McDougall’s Born to Run - and the wildly popular natural running trend it sparked - changed the way we think about running, but it has also prompted many questions: Have we been running the wrong way? And, have we been running in the wrong kind of shoe? What is the safest type of foot strike? How many types are there? And what is a foot strike anyway? No existing guide has clearly addressed these concerns - until now. The Running Revolution provides both beginning and experienced runners with everything they need to know in order to safely and efficiently transition to and master a safer and more biomechanically efficient way of running that is guaranteed to improve performance and minimize wear and tear on the body.

Long distance running is much like any other fitness training. If you want to improve, you need a good plan that has a progressive nature. If you are new to this game, you need a solid foundation to build on. Having a running program is not the only thing that you need. Sound advice and running tips should be taken from someone who has "walked the walk", or in this case, "ran the run".

This is not good as an audio book
I found this audiobook difficult because there are so many exercises and illustrations that are needed to make sense of the techniques. It is more of a workbook than a listen. However, the information is valuable for every runner, so just get the real book.

The Audible version was a great introduction
I loved this audible book. I also have a Kindle version and just got my hands on a physical copy of book because I liked the audible version so much. I have a better handle on the information because I listened to audible version first. Now the physical book is more enjoyable and the dissemination of the data is a pleasure. Can't wait to begin my workouts!

This audiobook needs a PDF for the figures
As far as I can tell, there was no companion PDF file for figures to download as of mid-December 2014. It definitely needs one. Without it, the information in this audiobook is only 50% (maybe less) effective. Nevertheless, I am giving four stars because I still got the gist of it and know that I just have to look at the figures in the actual book without spending time reading the text. So I don't regret buying this audiobook. I peeked at one figure of this book (pose, fall, and pull) at Amazon.com and found it useful already, so I ordered one at $10.75. If you are patient enough to actually read the text, go straight to the printed version and skip this audiobook.

Excellent presentation
Good material, most valuable. I’m a student of this style, having a running coach nearly 8 years ago teach it to me. Recently I’d started running again and couldn’t get beyond an injury, so I bought the audible version. So glad I did! Not only did my efficiency improve, I was able to overcome my pain by understanding some of the problems in my running gait! Listening to this book is very useful, like having a live coach with me!

Need PDF
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I don't like it when he refers to a diagram that I cannot see. I wanted to use this book WHILE I was running, but it is more about training exercises. I haven't practiced it the full ten weeks, so I shouldn't judge, but this is definitely one I wish I would have gotten in print.
