About this listen

Have you ever been in a no-win situation? Greg was given two choices: take care of his own needs or safeguard his friends; either way, he would still lose. Growing up, Greg was a shy and meek kid with only one friend, Robert. One day, a mysterious stranger who knew about Greg and his bloodline would make it perfect for him to steal a relic from the Vatican in his local church.

This Stranger, who was not of this world, needed Greg's help to gain access to the Rose. The consequences of Greg's refusal were dire-his friends and family would suffer. Faced with this unbearable choice, Greg, despite his fear, agreed to assist. The price of his cooperation was steep—his own life, the loss of his best friend, and banishment from his hometown.

Years later, Greg has transformed. The once meek and shy kid is now a bitter man, looking out only for himself. He has managed to charm and marry the daughter of a megachurch pastor, eventually ascending to the role of Lead Pastor. Now known as Brother Greg, he is a figure of wealth, power, and influence. His followers span his home state and beyond, and he is courted by politicians. He has an assistant who has become indispensable, with an uncanny ability to anticipate Brother Greg's needs, both church-related and personal.

At the height of his influence, the Stranger reappears once again, wanting something from Brother Greg. He finds himself unable to refuse. The situation gets more complex when his old friend reappears in his life with a message that may help him fight the Stranger.

A gripping tale of choice and redemption

This book is a captivating audiobook that blends mystery, suspense, and spiritual intrigue into a compelling narrative. I loved how the story follows Greg’s transformation from a shy, conflicted youth to a powerful yet flawed pastor, with the narration bringing depth to his complex emotions and moral dilemmas. The narrator’s ability to convey both Greg’s vulnerability and his later charisma made the listening experience truly engaging. I’d recommend this audiobook to fans of suspenseful thrillers with spiritual or supernatural elements, particularly those who enjoy authors like Dan Brown or Ted Dekker.

Brother Greg is complex and interesting.

I thought the earlier years of the characters were more interesting. The story was sad. Was Greg ever happy? Loved the supernatural elements.
