About this listen
Welcome to Jim Thorpe Pennsylvania, where the fate of everything rests in a small northeastern town.
Amid rumors of war, ten children are taken from their houses in the middle of the night by military forces and a small urban town is mysteriously put on lockdown. Travis Pratt, a local musician trapped inside the hot zone, quickly finds himself caught in a web of corruption and running for his life when he unearths the world's most catastrophic secret. Staying alive won't be easy. Escape, impossible.
From the award-winning author of the 7th Jackal trilogy comes The Rising, an epic thriller of survival and moral intricacy.

Good listen. Different take on war for sure. The narration really kept me interested. Hope they come back with a part two

The Suprising Rising
As narrator of this book, some might think I am biased. But I tell you in truth, I read 5 chapters ahead before each performance and each time, I yearned to know more. The writing of JL Davis is superb in building tension, serving suspense, and delivering shock when least expected. The surreal experiences described throughout the story were never far fetched from out modern reality. Corruption, survival, morality, and love all play a huge role in constructing this epic tale. The character diversity was well balanced. From the scandalous President Lynch to querky Lewie Mullens. The opposites of Damien Steele to Travis Pratt were also well developed. I believe all readers/hearers will be in for a pleasant suprise when visiting Jim Thorpe through this Novel and will venture back again and again. It was a honor to bring it to life.
