About this listen

You thought you had us, but the war has only just begun. I'll bring down all of Kedna myself, if that's the price of our liberation.

The Republic of North America has fallen into chaos, and now the entire world is watching. One side will come out the victor, and the other will be destroyed. With everything to gain and so much more to lose, the Revolutionary of the People must take control of her revolution against the forces of an unstable president and answer the world's question: Who will rule the nation?

Teen author Beckham Lawre presents the second book of the Promises Left for Dead series, The Price of Our Liberation.

If you liked book one then read book two. Don’t listen to it. The audio quality was horrible. Sometimes hard to understand. The narrator is not a professional and mispronounced a lot of things and doesn’t do the accents very well.

As for the story itself I was not impressed. I was frequently confused or annoyed by the turn of events. The book starts by unnecessarily changing the genre of the story. Book 1 was dystopian revolution. Book 2 added in werewolves and vampires for some reason. It had no bearing on the story at all and the opening scene (spoiler) introduced people and things that didn’t come back in at all. Maybe they are in book 3 but why introduce them if you don’t need them for the story? I was so confused. There was no reason for the vampires. It could have just been another nation. The fact that they are vampires wasn’t important to the story. I may not bother with book 3 but if I do, I will read it and not listen.
