About this listen
The brilliant and beloved gang from the New York Times best-selling series is back!
The Mysterious Benedict Society is a modern classic, drawing comparisons to J.K. Rowling and Roald Dahl, named a Time magazine "Best Young Adult Book of All Time," and selling over three million copies.
Some time has passed since the inimitable quartet of Reynie, Sticky, Kate, and Constance have had a mission together. But with the arrival of a new Society member - and a new threat - they must reunite to face dilemmas more dangerous than ever before, including the villainous Mr. Curtain and a telepathic enemy tracking their every move, not to mention a dramatically preteen Constance.
In its triumphant return, the Society encounters all new challenges, but the series' trademark sly humor, sweet camaraderie, hairsbreadth escapes, and mind-bending puzzles are all as engaging as ever. Fans of the series will be thrilled to see the Society has grown up a little with them, while a new generation of listeners will fall in love with these irresistible adventures.

Story
The kingdom of Cornucopia was once the happiest in the world. It had plenty of gold, a king with the finest moustache you could possibly imagine, and butchers, bakers, and cheesemongers whose exquisite foods made a person dance with delight when they ate them. Everything was perfect - except for the misty Marshlands to the north, which, according to legend, were home to the monstrous Ickabog. Anyone sensible knew that the Ickabog was just a myth to scare children into behaving. But the funny thing about myths is that sometimes they take on a life of their own.

Story
Twelve-year-old Sophie has never quite fit into her life. She’s skipped multiple grades and doesn’t really connect with the older kids at school, but she’s not comfortable with her family, either. The reason? Sophie’s a Telepath, someone who can read minds. No one knows her secret - at least, that’s what she thinks.... But the day Sophie meets Fitz, a mysterious (and adorable) boy, she learns she’s not alone. He’s a Telepath too, and it turns out the reason she has never felt at home is that, well...she isn’t. Fitz opens Sophie’s eyes to a shocking truth....

Critic reviews
"Chases, narrow squeaks, hastily revised stratagems, and heroic exploits that culminate in a characteristically byzantine whirl of climactic twists, triumphs, and revelations... Clever as ever." (Kirkus Reviews)
"The Mysterious Benedict Society is back! The cast has aged, but the criminal contingency, amped-up action, and derring-do remain the same. Now teenagers, bright-bulb Reynie, intrepid Kate, and Sticky, he of the photographic memory, have the biggest fight ever on their hands. All of the bad guys from previous books (a baker's dozen of them) have returned with revenge on their minds and nefarious plans in their pockets, along with all sorts of instruments of evil. Also in attendance is the ever-contrary Constance Contraire... A welcome return full of the right stuff. (Booklist, starred review)

“Spectacular”
This book is amazing for all ages.
The story is wonderful, but Eric Pollins didn’t do such a good job.

Overall a big thumbs up
I really liked this series and have probably listened to or read all 4 books at least twenty times and if there was a fifth one I would be quite enthusiastic. To agree with another review I have read, it would be entertaining to read a new series devoted too the two new characters with some input from the older but still awesome characters creating some good nostalgia for the other readers.

It was Awesome
It is a great book and I think that if you have not read it you definitely should, but it is the fourth book in the series, so make sure you read the other three first

Wonderful!
I was surprised to see another story and immediately preordered this book. I enjoyed it so much. What happened to Del Roy? He was a great narrator. Eric Pollins did well but sounded a bit strained. Can Constance be less angry and more relaxed and pleasant? You would think that with all the love she has in her life now that her personality would greatly improve. These stories are very imaginative and enjoyable. I wish there were more mystery stories like these. I love humorous mystery stories with no foul language and profanity and no smut. Thank you for such creative and enjoyable stories.

LOVE THE SERIES!!!!!!!!
The only reason I gave the performance four stars is because I don't understand why they would make the narrator different than all the other books! Even the "Mysterious Education of Nicholas Benedict" is read by del Roy! Any way, for the whole book? I think I'd give it more like a million stars. Thank you so much!!!!

It was entertaining and I love the idea of hearing about them when they’re older
Nothing that I disliked
Amazing Creative Entertaining
The idea of forming a story when they’re older is just super creative and I love it
