 Priscilla Wilkens was angry with the world over the loss of her parents when the courts ordered her to live with her aunt and uncle. Her cousin, Lori Belle, was about as backward as they came. Priscilla was a proper girl from a high society New York city and couldn't believe she was on her way to live in a small-town rural city in Utah in the middle of nowhere and she would have to live around pigs and cows and who knew what else! Calvin Walker was on a train back to Panguitch, Utah after completing his credentials to become a veterinarian. It had been several years since he had been back home, and he couldn't wait to eat his mother's delicious home cooking and go for a ride on his horse around the picturesque countryside. He loved animals and was looking forward to working in the field he had always had a fondness for.

In Calvin's first month of practice, he was called to pay a visit to the Wilkens' farm to help deliver a horse's foal that was having trouble. While there, he met the lovely Priscilla Wilkens who is strikingly beautiful; however, he soon realizes she is extremely selfish and uncooperative when it comes to thinking about anyone else but herself. Priscilla decides that Calvin could be quite a catch with being a doctor and all...but the sooner he gave up being a Doctor of Animals and became a real doctor, the happier she'd be!

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I wasn't disappointed! I highly recommend it!
