About this listen
We live in a world of misunderstanding. People make up stories about us based on what they see, but they don’t truly know our inward journeys. Snap judgments punctuate our world. What if we could look at the lives of grossly misunderstood women of the Bible and mine truth from their stories? How would that change us?
Looking at Eve, Leah, Bathsheba, the Proverbs 31 Woman, and others, listeners will learn what these women can teach us about ourselves. Author Mary DeMuth combines her storytelling and scholarly skills to create a truly unique book that will help women understand misunderstanding, moving through and beyond it toward soul health.

Women were there. For centuries, discussions of early Christianity have focused on male leaders in the church. But there is ample evidence right in the New Testament that women were actively involved in ministry, at the frontier of the gospel mission, and as respected leaders. Nijay Gupta calls us to bring these women out of the shadows by shining light on their many inspiring contributions to the planting, growth, and health of the first Christian churches.

Life is often messy. We hear people say, “My life is a mess,” or “This situation is a mess.” What they mean is that life has become difficult, painful or confusing. But God never promised us a trouble-free life. In fact, His Word tells us to expect the opposite. In John 16:33, Jesus says, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (NIV). In Blessed in the Mess, beloved Bible teacher Joyce Meyer shows us how to be blessed in the midst of life’s most challenging circumstances.

Story
Ten of the Bible's best-known femmes fatales parade across the pages of Bad Girls of the Bible with situations that sound oh-so-familiar. Eve had food issues. Potiphar’s wife and Delilah had man trouble. Lot’s wife and Michal couldn’t let go of the past, Sapphira couldn’t let go of money, and Jezebel couldn’t let go of anything. Yet the woman at the well had her thirst quenched at last, while Rahab and the sinful woman left their sordid histories behind.

If you only read one book in 2022 this is it!
This incredible book blessed my drive as I heard the audible version during a solo road trip. Immediately I was transported to a different time and got a glimpse of different cultures, different characters that all shared one common denominator and that was to give God the glory! The sad truth is that many of us are misunderstood and we misunderstand many- yet the God who sees uses it all for our good, His glory. Thank you Mary for for taking us on such an important journey and changing the way I process His story through His people forever.

Raw, beautiful, comforting
This is an insight look at these women. It brings a perspective of the human struggle when we are misunderstood, unloved, suffer loss, etc. and how God who sees, hears, loves, chooses, and comforts such people. As I listen to each story I am reminded of the beauty of our God’s ways and how he meets each woman where they are at.

New insite into old stories
In The Most Misunderstood Women of the Bible, Mary Demuth breaks down the lives of some of the ... well you read the title.
Each chapter is broken down into sections. First a dramatic retelling of the biblical story. Then an indepth look at the wording used in the biblical account, including clarification on where our modern understanding suffers from the original language. The next three sections are all about how to apply the lessons from each woman to your own life.
This book is a must read for modern Christian women. It brings new light to how we see the women of the Bible and shows how the wrongs committed against them are still being perpetuated even in our churches today.
Author Mary Demuth reads her own book clearly and with the conviction of someone who strongly believes in the message God has given her to share.

This is a wonderful experience.
This book certainly gave me a deeper perspective on the ladies of the Bible. It also gave me a deeper understanding of God and his forgiveness for even the most heinous of sins, and how he gives us so many opportunities to step away from sin.
The lives of Bathsheba, and Mary Magdalene were so intense. It was very hard to listen to these chapters. I am glad I did. Then the chapter on Phoebe was so inspirational. She was some special lady. I highly recommend this book for both women and men.

Great book!
I love the storytelling about various women in the Bible. The narration was good too. Each story 's lesson was practically applied as a comparison to the challenges women face today and how we can overcome them with God's word.
