About this listen
Isabel Leon, the Marquesa, is an actress who has appeared in performances across the country, yet now she finds herself living in the small western town of Cantrell, Montana. With the town booming, the Marquesa decides it needs a grand hotel. It will take the help, and the heart, of a handsome stranger to make her dream a reality. As their relationship grows, the Marquesa finds her faith getting stronger, too. Soon, she is thinking of a role she has never played before: that of a Christian wife and mother. Linda Stephens’ lovely narration perfectly conveys the transformations in the Marquesa’s heart and soul.

Story
It's 1954. In this Western cowboy novel, six Old West cowboys and a 10-year-old boy meet for a weekly cribbage game. While the old men spin tales of days gone by on the trail, a real-life adventure stirs around them. The boy with the red-straw cowboy hat, cap gun, and leather bullet belt with silver-painted wooden bullets remembers it well. Maybe he wasn't born 100 years too late.

Pick a different Stephen Bly book
We have listened to many Stephen Bly books and enjoyed them, but this one did not ever gain our interest. The narrator is very uninteresting and ready in a very choppy way.
