Story
Leland Gaunt opens a new shop in Castle Rock called Needful Things. Anyone who enters his store finds the object of his or her lifelong dreams and desires: a prized baseball card, a healing amulet. In addition to a token payment, Gaunt requests that each person perform a little "deed", usually a seemingly innocent prank played on someone else from town. These practical jokes cascade out of control, and soon the entire town is doing battle with itself. Only Sheriff Alan Pangborn suspects that Gaunt is behind the population's increasingly violent behavior.

Al Engel had worked his way up to being Nick Rovito’s right-hand man, near the top of the syndicate. And this was a delicate job that Rovito had given him: retrieving a very important jacket, loaded with heroin, from the fresh grave of the drug mule who was accidentally buried wearing it. There was just one problem (at least - just one to begin with): It turned out the grave was empty. Suddenly Engel was the one finding himself “in deep”.

Another Fun Book By P.C.
I found this story just about as exciting as the first two I listened to, though the first two books were a different series, starring Kaiser Wrench as the main character. I am really enjoying listening to both series. Again Scott Spaid did an amazing job of narrating. I was kindly given this audiobook by Stacy and I am providing my voluntary unbiased review.

Hardboiled Crime Fiction... With Tails
A story worthy of classic pulp novels with a furry twist. Lucius Anoraq is a Husky PI who finds himself embroiled in the seedy underbelly of an alternate America where leopards, jaguars, bunnies, and bears take the place of humans in a satisfying short tale of extortion, blackmail, and murder. Definitely scratches the itch for a good hardboiled detective story if that's your thing. Narrator James Scott Spaid does a great job of bringing all the characters to life.

The Deceptive Case
This well written noir type book is exciting, unique and full of twist and turns. Private Investigator Lucius Anoraq gets hired for a case by a dying millionaire that seems simple enough until he starts investigating and begans to realize things aren't always as they seem. The case is enough to handle without adding the client's promiscuous entitled daughters with all their problems. I truly enjoyed this story because it is full of murder, lies, blackmail and pornography. James Scott Spaid is the perfect narrator for this series his voice is made for noir stories. I highly recommend this book.

great start
I didn't care for the two sisters and felt empathy for the dying general in the beginning, but by the end I felt sorry for the general and loathed the two evil spawns. The girls were connivers of the first degree -spoiled rich !!!!! Lucius was pretty savy thankfully it saved his life a few times!!! I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review .
