About this listen
The most important case of his life.
Only this time the defendant is himself.
The law of innocence is unwritten. It will not be found in a leather-bound code book. It will never be argued in a courtroom. In nature, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. In the law of innocence, for every man not guilty of a crime there is a man out there who is. And to prove true innocence the guilty man must be found and exposed to the world.
Heading home after winning his latest case, Defence Attorney Mickey Haller - the Lincoln Lawyer - is pulled over by the police. They open the trunk of his car to find the body of a former client.
Haller knows the law inside out. He will be charged with murder. He will have to build his case from behind bars. And the trial will be the trial of his life.
Because Mickey Haller will defend himself in court.
With watertight evidence stacked against him, Haller will need every trick in the book to prove he was framed.
But a not-guilty verdict isn't enough. In order to truly walk free, Haller knows he must find the real killer - that is the law of innocence....
Crime doesn't come better than Connelly.

Good, but to much politics
I liked it. but was it really necessary to criticise Donald Trump and Fox News? it didn't make a difference to the story.

Michael Connelly At His Best
I have listened and enjoyed every Michael Connelly book at this one did not disappoint.
Mikey Haller is the victim of the perfect frame. Can he wiggle out? Of course, the listner is not really worried. After all, the Lincoln Lawyer must triumph to keep the series going. Yet the plot is weaved so skillfully that the suspense never lets down. Then there is the gallery of characters we know so well, nail biting court drama and a satisfactory ending which leaves you smiling and waiting for the next book .
Because Mickey Haller will defend himself in court.
With watertight evidence stacked against him, Haller will need every trick in the book to prove he was framed.
But a not-guilty verdict isn't enough. In order to truly walk free, Haller knows he must find the real killer - that is the law of innocence....

Excellent story but irritating narration.
Excellent plot and believable characters. Spoilt by the narration. The narrator emphasises random words, seemingly without taking meaning into account.

So-so story ruined
Melodramatic narrator spoils a mediocre story line. The final reveal is anti-climactic. For fans only.

Excellent story
Excellent! Such a great story. Kept me occupied for hours!
Keep up the excellent standard. So many other authors get a good name and then dish out rubbish to publish as many books as they can without keeping up their original standard.

After a few bad ones, finally a good book by MC
Haller's return is excellent. The book grabs us by the throat from the first action and holds it almost to the end. This time the main accused is Haller himself, and each action gives the impression of increasing pressure and the passing time. In addition, an experienced prosecutor stands in front of him, and she wants to be successful at all costs. This combination of characters and action gives us a really dynamic mix and draws us into the story. The reader is excellent and makes the atmosphere. The solution leaves room for a sequel, and we'll probably see it sometime.

Excellent Book
The narration couldn’t be improved on. Really did bring the characters alive. First rate. Very good story too. I couldn’t wait to listen to the next installment.Mickey Haller and Bosch. Like to read more of this combination. I really enjoy the Lincoln Lawyer series. Would like to have heard how Bishop ended up. More could have been made of his involvement in plot. Thoroughly good listen.

Another great Lincoln Lawyer story
I enjoyed the book. It's a tricky law case, the story is fast moving, just complicated enough, and set in Michael Connelly's great LA universe. It helps that Harry Bosch appears. Didn't give it 5 stars mainly because the narrator reads everything in the same exaggerated intense manner. He's got a good voice for mystery books, but emphasis becomes pointless when every sentence is emphasised.
