In 2005, Dana Canedy’s fiancé, First Sergeant Charles Monroe King, began to write what would become a 200-page journal for his son in case he did not make it home from the war in Iraq. He was killed by a roadside bomb on October 14, 2006. His son, Jordan, was seven months old. Inspired by his example, Dana was determined to preserve his memory for their son. A Journal for Jordan is a mother’s fiercely honest letter to her child about the parent he lost before he could even speak. It is also a father’s advice and prayers for the son he will never know.

Story
The first authoritative biography of film legend Bruce Lee, who made martial arts a global phenomenon, bridged the divide between Eastern and Western cultures, and smashed long-held stereotypes of Asians and Asian Americans. Forty-five years after Bruce Lee’s sudden death at age 32, journalist and best-selling author Matthew Polly has written the definitive account of Lee’s life. It’s also one of the only accounts; incredibly, there has never been an authoritative biography of Lee.

One day he would dance with some of the greatest ballet companies of the world. One day he would be a friend to a president and first lady, movie stars, and the most influential people in America. Great book for Bruce Lee fans
If you could sum up The Last of the Four Musketeers in three words, what would they be?
Last four chapters
Who was your favorite character and why?
Bruce Lee
What does Christopher Newton bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Voice is not annoying and understandable.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Added a chapter to what I already have known of Bruce Lee.
Any additional comments?
You will enjoy this if you like asian American history post ww2 within the first 4 chapters. The latter half begins talking about Allen Joes fitness and bodybuilding journey and martial arts. It reaches a crescendo with the introduction of Bruce Lee, and humanizes an already iconic figure and certainly does not depreciate his legend.
