In this book, we explore the leadership principles the hit Apple TV series Ted Lasso can teach us. We look at the traits, actions, and tactics that made coach Ted Lasso such a successful leader.
Ted Lasso's leadership philosophy places a strong emphasis on the value of teamwork, empathy, positivity, honesty, and ongoing personal as well as professional development. We learn important lessons from looking at his leadership journey that can be used in a variety of our own leadership scenarios, whether in sports, business, or any other area.
NOTE: THIS BOOK INTENTIONALLY DOES NOT CONTAIN ANY SPECIFIC EXAMPLES FROM EPISODES OF TED LASSO. I DON’T WANT TO SPOIL THE SHOW FOR YOU IF YOU HAVEN’T WATCHED THE ENTIRE SERIES YET. The problem was he lacked a manual. So, he went out and created one. He asked Bill Belichick how to prepare, Steph Curry how to practice, and Sue Bird how do be resilient in the face of adversity. The Way of The Champion is the synthesis of everything Rabil learned on his path to becoming the greatest lacrosse player of all time.

Too many workplaces are driven by cynicism, paranoia, and self-interest. Standard leadership lessons
overall a good listen. However it would be better if they included examples of the lasso way rather than just saying Ted Lasso does certain things. It felt like they just used Ted Lasso as a draw to get the book.

Repetitive
The information is all great, it seemed that the techniques used in this leadership style as they were explained in this book are very repetitive. I see how breaking it down into each different type of leadership category, it was as if they were trying to drag out the book by reiterating the same skills.

4-Star Review: A Playbook for Optimism and Authentic Leadership
The Lasso Way: Leadership Lessons from the World's Favorite Football Coach is a delightful and quick read that packs a punch with its simple yet powerful messages on leadership and team building. Inspired by the beloved character Ted Lasso, this book is a refreshing reminder of the importance of optimism, authenticity, and the power of a supportive team.
What I enjoyed most about this book is how it distills Lasso’s approach into actionable insights that are easy to grasp and implement. Whether you’re a seasoned leader or just starting out, the principles of kindness, positivity, and leading with heart are timeless and relevant. The book emphasizes the value of facing challenges with a positive mindset and the importance of creating an environment where everyone feels valued and motivated.
While the book doesn't dive deep into complex leadership theories, that's part of its charm. It’s more of a feel-good guide that offers a practical brush-up on the fundamentals of leadership, reminding us that sometimes, the simplest strategies can have the biggest impact.
If you're looking for a light and uplifting read that reinforces the power of optimism and authentic leadership, The Lasso Way is a great choice. It’s a book that will leave you smiling and ready to lead your team with a little more heart.

Really nothing to do with Ted Lasso
This has solid leadership ideas, but no real connection to Ted Lasso. The author doesn’t reference specific scenes or ideas, but just general concepts from Ted. Author was too worried about avoiding spoiler alerts, even though the show ended a while ago, and misses the mark on what could have been a fun concept.

Fantastic Lessons on Leadership
This is an excellent book on leadership. So many components encompass what it means to be a good leader. This book hits them all.
I liked the length of each chapter. It's perfect for listening to while driving in the car because even if you are going a short distance, there are some nuggets that you will be able to walk away with.
At the end of each chapter, there are lessons that summarize what was covered.
I enjoyed the Audible version, and I plan on buying a hard copy from the author’s website to take notes on it when I listen to this book again for the 3rd time.

Not worth the $3
This book is chitty…it comes across as wisdom from Coach Lasso, but it’s purely an author trying to stand on Ted Lasso’s TV show’s fame. Hard pass
