Great Story and Narration
This is another great novella from Holly Knightley! Holly does a great job establishing setting and the characters in a relatively short format. Hitch was a great character! I love the elements of humor injected into the story as well. Her twist endings might just be my favorite part of her books.
Jason Markiewitz is an excellent narrator. I always enjoy listening to him.
I was gifted this copy by the author but would gladly pay the list price. Totally worth a listen!

Loved the novella, now I love the audio version!
Great narration! The narrator brought the spooky story to life! Great job. This storyline moves quick and reminds me of old Hitchcock and Twilight Zone episodes. Around 2 hours of listening time, perfect for listening to around the house or while getting errands done- made my tasks fly by as I focused on the story!

Supernatural Sensation!!
The Killing Tree brought forth a suspenseful story that kept me engaged right up until the very end. Knightley did a phenomenal job of intertwining allusions that connect the reader even more. About thirty minutes in, I grasped onto the Bradbury essence she invoked in this story. Bradbury would be proud!! As I was listening to Markiewitz's telling of the tale, I was mesmerized by his voice where I felt as I was being pulled into the story. I highly recommend to read and to listen to The Killing Tree. You will not be disappointed!!

A tree with haunting secrets
Received as an audio copy from the narrator to review, this is an honest review. Beautifully performed by Jason Markiewitz, The Killing Tree may be a quick read or listen but is emotionally complex for this gnarly tree that stands within Knox Lansbury's family tree farm looks at would be more fitting in a decrepit cemetery. Haunted by the death of his brother in a moment anger, Knox believes he caused Lincoln to die by a tree; with his friend Hitch's help investigate what exactly this weird tree is. The secrets both uncover goes far beyond an ancient tree but become much more personal for Knox than he could have thought.
Highly recommended.

Great Reading of an Excellent Book
Through the use of voice inflections. the narrator enhanced an already intriguing story by adding to personality of each character. And, The Killing Tree's author expertly spun a tale of strained familial relationships into one of understanding and acceptance. The combined effort of an energetic narrator and a highly skilled writer make for an evening of fine entertainment.

Deadly Roommates
Knox Lansbury’s best friend and roommate, Hitch, is a film student with a fascination for the macabre. When Hitch persuades Knox to return home and help shoot a documentary for his final project, Knox reluctantly agrees. But Hitch’s obsession with horror drives him to push Knox further — convincing him to reveal his darkest secret on camera, right at the place where it all unfolded.
The author, Holly Knightley, delivers a captivating horror story that explores how seemingly innocent situations can spiral into something far more sinister. She allows her characters to develop naturally, highlighting familiar thoughts, actions, and behaviors before revealing how terrifying they can become when left unchecked. Her dialogue flows smoothly, and she skillfully taps into fundamental human emotions and connections to create a chilling and immersive experience. The plot twists are rich and unexpected.
The narrator, Jason Markiewitz, infuses the dialogue and situations with emotion and suspense to fully immerse the listener. His skillful use of inflection and intonation enhances the tension, drawing the audience deeper into the story. He speaks clearly, with a cadence that intensifies the growing horror, recognition, and, ultimately, Lansbury's acceptance.
This was a fascinating listen that remained well after the last words were spoken. Both Knightley and Markiewitz delivered a fascinating and immersive book!
