طبيعة الإنسان تقوده لرغبة تحقيق أكبر قدر من المكاسب دون القيام بمجهود كبير. ابتداءً من إيقاف السيارة في موقف غير مناسب في محاولة لكسب المزيد من الوقت، وانتهاءً بخسارات فاجعة في سوق الأسهم بعد محاولة للربح السريع دون عمل.

نحن الكُتّاب المبتدئين مثلاً، نعشق غالبًا الكُتب التي أتممنا كتابتها، ونتخيل كثيرًا أشكالنا برفقتها قبل انتهاءها. وفي نفس الوقت نستصعب فكرة الجلوس كل يوم لساعات طويلة كي نكتب. تحب الرسامة "ما تم رسمه" وتعيش بقية الأيام بصعوبة مع نفسها لإقناعها كل لحظة، بأنها يجب أن تقوم لترسم الآن.
