Our Divided Political Heart will be the must-listen book of the 2012 election campaign. Offering an incisive analysis of how hyper-individualism is poisoning the nation's political atmosphere, E. J. Dionne Jr., argues that Americans can't agree on who we are because we can't agree on who we've been, or what it is, philosophically and spiritually, that makes us Americans.

Story
It is the year of our Lord 1493, and King Henry VII has been seated on the English throne for eight years. He did not get there by chance alone. Nor has he stayed there with ease. He has his favorites, generously rewarding those who serve him well. Sir Nic McKinnon is at the top of that list. For his faithful devotion, Nic finds himself graciously rewarded. That reward is the hand of Morgan Pembridge, seventh duchess of Seabridge, in marriage. The only issue is Nic isn't interested in the bounty, and taking a wife is certainly not in his plans.

Story
The very short stories of Diane Williams have been aptly called "folk tales that hammer like a nail gun," and these 40 new ones are sharper than ever. They are unsettling, yes, frequently revelatory, and, more often than not, downright funny. Not a single moment here is what you might expect. The heart of the drama beats in the language of American short fiction's grand master, whose originality, precision, and power bring the familiar into startling and enchanted relief.

The modern audience hasn't had a chance to truly appreciate the unknowing dread that readers would have felt when reading Bram Stoker's original 1897 manuscript. Most modern productions employ campiness or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we've tried something different. By returning to Stoker's original storytelling structure - a series of letters and journal entries voiced by Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing, and other characters - with an all-star cast of narrators, we've sought to recapture its originally intended horror and power.

Fascinating
The essence of a good interview is whether it ends up being interesting. In that case, this interview gets 10 out of 10. It also answers numerous questions about Douglas Adams, the hitchhiker movie, and so on. Too bad I missed the movie on circuit, but plan to watch it on video.

You Must ...
in my top ten books there are only 2 must reads/listen A Christmas Carol which you could read or listen and H2G2. I believe the better choice there is listen. if you can find one read by Douglas Adams it is FAR superior to any other iterations.

I Thought it was the book
The interview was very entertaining, but I expected to hear the book after the interview.

this is an interview for a movie, not an audiobook
title should be clearer that it's an interview not an audiobook. where do I go to get my credit back?

Discussing a hack job
While I was watching this movie, the question that repeatedly entered my mind was "What the hell were they thinking?" This interview addresses some of these issues, but not all of them.
