Jamie has spent years earning an honest buck after a car wreck lost him the proceeds of a bank robbery. It's an unfair world that has left him wanting to tip back the balance back in his favor at any cost, and so this time there will be no mistakes. Los Angeles is birthing a new criminal mastermind, ready to take his heists across the world, and with him, a group of misfits follows.

His friend Fu is desperate to stay in California but needs money if he is to block his return to China. A work colleague that has always lived straight and narrow with a talent for driving, but with a husband in the hospital she will have little choice but to repurpose her speed as a wheelman. A drug-dealing roommate and a woman that Jamie recognizes will throw the plan into turmoil. Can the crew pull off their first job and will they all make it out alive?

Synopsis of the series

Jamie becomes disenchanted with his nine to five in book one and decides to retry his hand at a criminal career after having lost all the money from a bank robbery years before. He feels the world needs to be put back into balance and so assembles a crew of friends that are willing to join him in his new criminal enterprise. After finding a crew in London that may have more work for him Jamie decides to first try a bank robbery of his own in Los Angeles, his home. Making it out won't be easy but on the other side, there is the possibility of going to London and teaming up with a crew that has much bigger plans.
