About this listen

Newly transformed vampire, Miles Beaumont, London maker of famous harpsichords is a noteworthy concert artist. But as with all creatures, he craves a mate of his own kind.

On a ship bound for New York in 1731, Miles is unwittingly mesmerized and becomes the victim of a vampire couple who feed on him, sucking his spirit from his body along with his blood, and slowly transforming him into a soulless, loveless being, feeling no remorse for his murderous appetite.

Miles lives and loves through three centuries. From London to the colonial isle of Manhattan, he then travels to Paris during the French Revolution. His quest for conjugal union continues into the Roaring Twenties and the Depression Era. In contemporary New York, he must decide if use his charm and talents to lure a talented young beauty as his mate, or does he maintain some shred of conscience concerning his blood lust?

This is a title that takes a while to digest especially after listening to/reading the end. The end felt bitter sweet - maybe it was for the best but still....Anywho, Robert Bishop has the voice and talent that won't work with some titles but for the "The Harpsichordist" he was perfect. I've never listened to or read anything by Celeste Plowden but I am glad I found this title.

4 Starz - worthy of a repeat listen
