Not as good as his other books

I thought the premise was interesting but you really had to suspend belief. Would such a smart woman be fooled by her husband!?! Would she forgive such a betrayal of trust!?! So much seemed outlandish. And for the record lab mice even knockout mice dont cost that much!!! Tigner has written much better thrillers.

Different but very engaging

I have listened to all the novels by Tim Tigner, and I was very eagerly looking forward the release of "The Greater Good". It was immediately very captivating, engaging, and hard to put down. If I would have had the time, I would have listened to it in one single session.

This book is somewhat different from most other Tim Tigner novels. However, this should not be understood in a negative way! I still uphold that, if you enjoyed other Tim Tigner books, you will like this one as well. Nevertheless, this story does not follow the typical "Knight in shining armord fights for a noble cause and eventually wins, despite the numerous seeminlgy insurmountable obstables along the way." Instead, the protagonist is a much more regular/average person, and the story revolves significantly around moral conundrums akin to the trolley problem.

Last but not least, about 30-40 minutes before the end of the book, I had serious fears that not all my open questions and loose ends in the plot would be resolved, as I could not see how to do this in so little time. However, I was wrong, and all my questions were resolved, leading to a satisfactory ending of the book.

The performance by Helen Laser is also great. I really enjoyed how she brought the characters to life.

A Tim Tigner Masterpiece

I have worked with Tim “in the real world” at two MedTech startups. I have read all of his writings I am aware of. I believe this is the pinnacle of his work to date. Every dimension of story rings very real from what I know about BioTech, MedTech, DARPA, the Smith-Mundt modernization act of 2012 and Operation Mockingbird.

I get “wonderfully uncomfortable” reading Tim’s books. His “fictional”works are reflective and predictive in so many areas. I could not help but think about my high school required summer reading that include ‘1984’ byGeorge Orwell. I consider “The Greater Good” to be a modern warning equal in scope and superior in delivery. It should be required reading and coursework for our current world. Well done Tim. Well done.

Whoa…

Definitely engaging! Unique and thought provoking. The end gave me a little chill since I finished this the day after the body the former Virginia DA was found. Not into conspiracies but the timing was fascinating.

Fast paced and thought provoking;

Tim Tigner did it again! A roller coaster of a story which is not just action but also about a deep thought provoking moral issues that keep you thinking and hanging on until the very last final word.
Realistic? Unlikely, but that’s not the point. Entertaining? Absolutely loved it!

A Puzzle inside a Mystery wrapped in a Thriller

The Greater Good plunges you into an intriguing What would you do? conundrum of grand proportions. The question applies to multiple characters on various levels and Tigner sets it up with no easy answers. He keeps the characters and the reader thinking and guessing until surprisingly sticking a perfect ending.

Like the author's other stories, The Greater Good is fast paced and packed with suspense. A twist concludes every chapter and you never know exactly where the story is heading. I really liked the way the heroine's struggles tied into current events and issues. That made me think and rethink what I know.

I saw myself, or at least wanted to, in all three main characters. They were relatable; flawed but struggling. I felt their pain and I was working along side them to figure out how to do good while being bad.

Highly recommended!

Another complicated cautionary tale with likable, clever characters from Tim Tigner! I read it in two days and will now reread it to savor!

Roller coaster ride from the start

The book was well written with a genuinely interesting premise. The trolly car example brings up a lot of internal moral questioning about how far would you be willing to go to help others out? Ending is also another very interesting idea of what could be.
